I think he just doubled the width of the image. Halving it makes it look very similar to my bog-standard 16:10 LCD. 16:9 It's 32:9,no wonder it looks like a 16:9 when you halve the width. P.S. I didn't stretch the image at all. Just squished it vertically :D (just for lulz) The panoramic view looks...

But unlike Truform, the future is brighter with this one. This time the tesselator is more open - it can be accessed through OpenGL as well (even under Linux) Another thing that will boost the popularity of tessellation: Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11 and DX11 will make tesselation (and tesselation ...

AMD Tesselation SDK for Windows, Linux support coming soon

AMD has released a SDK (software development kit) for real time tesselation on the GPU. This isn't solely a PC monitor. It's actually an LCD TV; it has VGA, HDMI, Component, S-Video, RGB, AV SCART and composite inputs. This image is one of my PC desktop (VGA). I'm aware of that, but there's another type of Samsung computer monitors with the same connections being advertised as LCD TVs ...

That's not a true black level test.

Try this one: Make a new .PNG image in MS Paint at the native resolution of your monitor.Use the color fill tool to paint the whole image black (#000000) and save it on your HDD.
Open it in Opera and select view->fullscreen
Now take a screenshot of your monitor.

but the only people who actually know about them and have a CRT monitor good enough that it actually -is- better than current LCDs aren't going to be running at 1280x1024, the only popular 5:4 resolution. That resolution *is* useful in some cases: old PC games sometimes don't have the 1280x960 opti...

My LCD isn't washed out. Blacks are black. Whites are white. And it didn't cost me a huge pile of trees either; it's an older model too. No motion blur either. It's a 26" Samsung model. In the past, I'd have stuck with CRT, but LCD's are great nowa days. Yeah, they're close to real black but on...

Depends on the quality/brand of the monitor and if it has hardware to compensate for this.

You'll start to see dead pixels on an LCD much sooner than you notice degradation on a CRT monitor.

Nope. It runs smoothly (50-60fps) at even higher resolutions (1200p) with 'junk' 64MB cards like the GeForce 3 / Radeon 8500LE.
