Try 'rewinding'

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned: REWIND Although it has to be done pretty much immediately (so this won't help you now, sorry), the 'rewind' function is what I use in these situations. If I load a state by accident, I just tap 'R' on my keyboard a few times, and it rewinds the play session ...

This is an update to let you know that my DKC gaming site is finally online!

DKC Atlas
An Adventurer's guide to Donkey Kong Country

The content itself is far from complete, but I hope all DKC fans will find something they like.

Good thinking, creaothceann . Zeroing the speed values is another method I attempted and had little success with. The reason for this is probably just that I wasn't as thorough in seeking a result through this method as I was with the x-pos approach. I should take another look. I have tried to find ...

Rydian , phOnYmIkE , thanks for your input. Locking x-position is certainly a valid aproach. Many (if not all) baddies are given an absolute y-position, too, and it's not always at ground level... So if I can lock both co-ordinates for an object, I can ascertain its exact starting point. Hopefully ...

Re: PAR Code Flying Ability Super Mario World

Hi V, Welcome to the ZSNES Board. :) I'm looking for help with PAR codes , too, so I'd like to be helpful here if I can. I am looking for a PAR code for flying ability in Super Mario World. I can't find one to work with ZSNES anywhere or some sort of code where Mario has infinite flying power. Are y...

Even though your post wasn't an answer to my problem, I surely appreciate the kind thoughts and words.

New DKC website released! Help needed with PAR code creation

Hi guys, I just wanted to announce to the DKC fans of ZSNES Forum that my Donkey Kong Country website is finally online! Although the content is far from complete, the design is ready, and it's off to a great start. I think this will be a great resource for any fans of Donkey Kong Country, especiall...

The exit window? Who could think of disabling such a charming feature! ;) It's great that such an obscure programme has powerful customisation options... The default settings are great, but my needs are specific. Firstly, I like to free up screen space for other applications (such as ZSNES, Photosho...

Great, getting so much better all the time. My .cht files have never looked neater. 8) So only the .exe is being updated for these bugfixes? That's good to know. I suppose one of the positive outcomes of me having overwritten the .ini file every time is that I've become quite familiar with vSNES's o...

Good on ya, man! I can tell you tested it this time - with Chrono Trigger, right? :D It's working just fine for my purposes now, I appreciate your perseverance! A couple of issues to address at your leisure: Although the toggle checkboxes display the flag status correctly in vSNES, they seem to open...

Flags & copied text work fine now, but it seems that cheat descriptions are lost when pasting back into vSNES.

Thanks for going to this trouble. Seems like more problems have cropped up though. :? If I use this version to copy the cheat table to the clipboard, and then try to paste it back in unaltered, I receive the message "The clipboard text has the wrong format." I looked at the text which vSNE...

The source of the corruption has been fixed. That's great news. :) ZSNES still crashes when loading some (all?) CHT files since the values of the "flag" (first byte of a cheat) are wrong ...Not so great. I never had crashing issues with ZSNES before as a result of the .cht corruption. The...

CHT Editor problems (.cht corruption)

creaothceann , I'm still loving vSNES (how did I live without it?), but I have encountered a problem with editing and saving .cht files. There are no problems opening a .cht file and copying the neatly re-formatted contents into Notepad via the clipboard, but after editing the order of cheats (that...

I just discovered this great piece of software recently, and I've found it to be very useful for exploring and isolating graphics. Thanks for a unique, high quality app! Btw. I'm thinking about removing the "reload" and "launch" buttons from the main window. Does anybody use them...

Holy crap yeah... Then there's a blast barrel which sends you back a screen or so into a clearing... I'm not surprised I had a hard time working this out. You sure know your DKC!

Ichinisan wrote:Did you get the 6-up balloon yet?
Nope, I think I remember something about that balloon from when I was little, but I can't for the life of me remember how you get it. If you do things right, there's a bouncy tyre on top of the exit cave. Is that right?

But cheers, at very least that should cut down on the confusion of newcomers (AKA me).

Crate maneuvers

Hi guys, I just got mencoder set up with ZSNES on my laptop, and it's working brilliantly.
I just thought I'd share a little something with any DKC fans out there. It's short, but interesting!

Dig it.

Nice work!

Hey good job, I'm impressed! Sounds really nice. I even downloaded the video just to see Mario jump about to the music. It was a bit distracting having the mouse pointer flitting around the screen, but that doesn't detract from the overall gooditude of the Zelda 3 Mario Paint music experience. ;)
