Re: Estpolis Denki (J) (V1.1)

Sorry to get back to this thread so late, but thanks. I had indeed apparently been using the MS-DOS version of NSRT, and the Windows version works a treat.

Hrm, well, that is the version I used, but Windows 7 didn't like it. Would it help to use the version with the frontend or something?

Estpolis Denki (J) (V1.1)

Hey guys, I'm an infrequent visitor to these forums, and the last time I visited was to mention a version of Garou Densetsu (Fatal Fury) that wasn't in NSRT (That thread is here ). Well, I just dumped another one, and this one isn't even in the DAT-o-MATIC database (guess I'll try to send it later)....

I don't really use any official system. i typically use -oh for those names ending in -oo (liek, kanoh makoto) -ou is for shouryuuken and co Well, but Kanou Makoto ends in -ou. See?: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%8A%A0%E7%B4%8D%E8%AA%A0 Names like Oono (big field, not to be confused with Ono, sm...

I personally don't care how people romanize. Hepburn has one good point in that ティ and トゥ become "ti" and "tu" respectively, while Kunrei has no way of distinguishing them from チ and ツ (chi and tsu in Hepburn). But some (older) speakers don't distinguish them in speech anyway. Wh...

Can anyone explain the difference with Densetu and Densetsu in the name to me? Yes, in more detail than you probably care for. Japanese has five vowels, and each one gets associated with each consonant (well, aside from y and w, which are exceptions in modern Japanese), so with "k" that w...

It would seem I don't have the info for your dump in my database yet. Can you repost the info from your dump with the -hashes parameter? Thanks. Okay, here you go: ---------------------Internal ROM Info---------------------- File: garoudensetsu.smc Name: GAROU DENSETU Company: Takara Header: None B...

The game will be exactly the same. The revision may contain bug fixes, increased copy protection or may have been re-released by a different licensee (e.g. Licensed to Nintendo). Yeah, and I wondered which of these might be the case, or if there's any way of perhaps determining such. You might want...

Garou Densetsu (Fatal Fury) - Rev A/1

I'm not sure if this is an okay place to post this question, but I remember there being a lot of knowledgeable folks here. Apologies in advance if it's not appropriate. I ripped my cart of Garou Densetsu via the Mash Mods programmer, and was surprised to find out that while the checksum checks out f...

(The only reason roms have so much bad data in circulation is because cowering is a brainless fudgepacker handing crackheads a bag of candy, most of which is poisoned, and then blaming them for not manually sifting out each bad piece from the bag before dealing it out to kiddies.) I LOLed. Seriousl...

I just have to say that this thing is awesome. I won't be buying one, since I've already bought the Mash Mods device for backing up my surviving savegames (all I really wanted to do), but this will doubtlessly be a nicer unit. All I'm waiting for now is a decent multi-ROM flashcart to totally remove...

Oh, and some nitpicking of my own. grinvader, shouldn't that be 追って来い (ottekoi)? I could see reading it "tsuite koi" if 追 were ateji , but even there, it seems it should be 追いて来い. Geh. Blame my IME for giving me 追 when for tsui, removing the い. Tsuite doesn't give anything sensed, so I ha...

Since this thread has already been resurrected... These retranslation ideas sound simply retarded. "Mystics" seems like a fine translation for Mazoku, as does "Frog" for Kaeru. I personally have much more of a gripe with Natsuko Toda than with game localization. She's this movie ...

Oh, hey guys, I'm resurrecting this old thread (that references a REALLY old thread), but I just noticed the release of ZSNES 1.51, and I wanted to see if there was anything new on this game. There isn't, but I found some info on a Japanese forum. You can choose a male or female main character at th...

Actually, one has a header, and one doesn't. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I assume not, but I pasted both anyway, just in case.

Benkei Gaiden - Suna no Shou (J) [lazy bugtesters]

Benkei Gaiden: Suna no Shou is one of my favorite SFC RPGs, but for some reason, levelling up to lv. 77 results in a freeze in ZSNES (and a slew of other emulators!). I asked about this here maybe four (!) years ago, and pagefault said he'd check it out, but I never saw another reply, or any other i...
