XAudio2 is much better then DirectSound indeed. At least this API working on 2 platforms: WINDOWS and XBOX360. Much better then just WINDOWS. The counter argument is i doubt XAudio2 do hardware rendering, i think it just translating calls to WASAPI or DirectSound. If you have the link to official pa...
