yeah osx is based off of a bsd of some sort for sure, believe it is freebsd, and darwin is what they call the base of osx. So it is a UNIX and actually has the full UNIX certification now. Linux is UNIX like but isn't the same. UNIX is the original and linux came along and was/is essentially a clone...

oh yeah the 400sc was a steal a few years ago. I payed, after sending the hard drive back to dell(that was nice I think they gave me like 50 or 100 bucks for the I think 40 gig hard drive that was included, I don't think they let you send the base parts back anymore), a 175 for a p4 2.8. That was a ...

aye carumba thats not fair at all though to compare newegg prices to apple prices. Then you can't just say apple charges an exorbatant amount you have to say they all do Dell and HP and everyone else do the same ridiculous markups. So your comments deriding apple for their high prices need to be rew...

I said accessories, I consider those accessories as you get something in the computer, but dell can sometimes(depends) charge a pretty damn steep premium for those items too. Who in their right mind buys that stuff right from dell or apple anyway. I'm talking configure a computer at dell to match th...

The attempt to simplify the mouse to one button only offloaded the work to the keyboard I believe you mean refusal to complicate the mouse beyond one button. The original mouse WAS a single-button device and was INTENDED to be used alongside a keyboard, albeit a one-handed one making use of chordin...

I can't stand Macs, form over function is exactly how I would describe it. I think the dock is unnecessarily large and its icons protrude into windows. The blank desktop space on either side is also aesthetically odd when maximizing a window. The whole shared menu bar on top thing is also nonsense....

Did you know that a fair amount of osx is open source and available for download and messing with/compiling? http://developer.apple.com/opensource/index.html is the base darwin. http://lists.apple.com/archives/Darwin-dev/2006/Aug/msg00067.html has links to the kernel and such. Now it isn't all open ...

I think if you use it more and more you'll grow to like the way osx does stuff, just little things you'll notice here and there. Plus there is expose my favorite feature over windows. Saves me alot of time, if you don't know what expose is yet press either f3 or f9 I believe it is. http://en.wikiped...

I believe they have said no one should be building off the latest sources as its heavily in development. I believe but could easily be wrong.

If I recall, their DirectInput mapping treats L and R as the left and right halves of ONE axis instead of two separate axes. XBCD will let you reconfigure that. thats what my post said about the one axis :) as far as xbcd no luck for us wireless folk it only works on the wired version. There is a j...

I believe they are going to call it 2.0 http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10503 has a bit of info if you read through, but the link that post has is dead. I'm kind of curious myself as to what all is being added and such. I see dx9 mentioned in that thread and pixel shaders for at least ...

I have heard it is extremely easy to program. yeah I think the 360 controller is the only one to use it. Still wouldn't be an issue period if microsoft had just put a decent dpad on the 360 controller instead of making us use the analog, and if they had written a proper controller driver so the butt...

Well I used perfect when really neither truly supports the 360 controller as it uses Xinput and when using it through direct input you can't use both L and R triggers at the same time. They get treated as one axis with one being negative and one being positive and when you press them both at the sam...

yeah my computer runs vista media center and so its got aero and all that running. When it goes into 16bpp pixel it turns aero off and takes a bit, then when its coming back out of the emulator it has to again switch back to 32bpp and then turn aero back on and then re maximize media center. Its a b...

ok thank you I'll look at it, you don't think it'll cause any issues to turn it off? Its not set the way it is for a major reason? And wierdly now that I compiled my own build to fix the joystick issue it throws up an error when it gets back to media center saying I need to run media center in 32bpp...

32bpp when full screen...

Hi, I believe I read a response on this a long time ago but can not remember and cannot find said info. I was wondering if it was possible in anyway to have zsnes display in 32bpp when in full screen mode. My reasons are I run my emulator from vista media center. So when It shuts down it has to swit...

Thanks Red_Wraith I had tried putting joy_sensitivity in there but that led to the joy not working at all. I had to go with 8192 for my controller. I tried your middle value but that didn't quite work(it sort of did but not great) then I tried 24575 and that didn't work worth anything. So I went wit...

careful if you go the wireless xbox360 controller route. You can't use xbcd with them and microsofts driver for it has no configuration options(making the trigger buttons semi useless as they can't be pressed at the same time, you can use the bumpers instead but I don't like using them as much doesn...

i'm totally lost on trying to change the source, for one my line numbers don't match up with what you say in the post. Instead of 2722 mine starts at 2919. I can of course change those lines but after that I'm lost. I would recommend converting joy_sensitivity to a sensitivity percentage (eg 0 - 100...
