Question about .srm files

I've known about this for a long time but I never really looked into it until now. The problem is that there seems to be 'offline srms' and 'online srms'. Completing and unlocking something that is saved to sram while you're offline doesn't come up online unless you've completed it online. I thought...

I'm pretty confident it's lag. The lower your lat setting the more the sprites on screen 'jerk around'. This only happens if you're viewing the sprite under your client's control. It can play at a perfectly smooth pace and not desync but it'll still pop up often be it their cursour on tetris attack,...

Wierd button registering problems.

Alot of the time I get flawless gameplay from 1.36 and 1.42 alike. A few Tetris Attack games have been ruined by wierd button press behaviour with 1.36. 1.36 is the version of choice for TA but a few games recently showed me this: Buttons get ignored, as in completely go unregistered. There are ofte...

Something's blocking zsnes's netplay port. -If you use a router / hub / modem with multiple ports you need to forward port 7845 UDP (and 4000 TCP for zbattle file tranfsers, if you use that by any chance). If you don't know how to do it www.portforward.com has nice instructions for a wide range of m...

Thanks for the input. Anomie's doc looks great, should make this a fair bit easier. As for scrolling, I chose replacing the whole map because its quick and cheap but I wasn't sure it would be all that viable. I'm thinking replacing a line / column of the tile map before it comes into view (64 bytes ...

Are you sure you can even use turbo when netplaying?

I remember a while back mapping X button to turbo for contra III but when I went online nothing happens....

I'm not sure if it changed somewhere along the line but I don't think it would've.

The size difference alone should make it worth of it to have your friend install ZSNES. After all its just a savestate with key presses right? But if you absolutely must then yeah, read the sticky on notes for it.

Only problems I can think of are if they draw too much power (If they had something like force feedback...but these are snes controllers), but the power supply shouldn't make that a problem I guess. For controller 'bandwidth'? USB offers 12Mbps for 1.1 and 480 Mbps for 2.0 (?!). I got no figures to ...

That's a board filter that adds the text if you spell ZSNES as with NES instead of SNES :/ For the problem, www.portforward.com has direcitons on how to forward ports. Pick out your model of modem / router if it has it and follow whatever it tells you to do. The instructions are pretty good so you s...

Ok, I got some questions on the topic of 'seamless' scrolling as in changing the tile map of a certain background as you scrolling to display something new I guess. Some stuff about sprites too. From what I know you can have various sizes for your map but lets say I'm using 64x32 map (The width bein...

Nice song indeed.

When I had Mario Paint on my SNES all I did was piss around with the really nifty animation feature. Put countless hours of time into it, even though my animations were pretty crap overall it was still alot of fun.

I have another question. This one being about palettes in the PCX file. I downloaded 'Palettes out of Chaos' / PalExChaos because it apparently lets you change the palette of a PCX without actually changing the way the image is displayed. I'm using this to change the palette so that colour 0 of the ...

I deleted the 2 configuration files and it seems to be back to normal! I hear alot of mentions about deleting these 2 files when bugs occur but I didn't know it was such a common issue. Guess next time I'll delete those files first when ZSNES is being odd.

'Laggy' input with typing and GUI

I've started getting this wierd problem recently with ZSNES. When I navigate the GUI and type, the input is either ignored or delayed severley. With the GUI clicks are randomly ignored or they take a while to actually take affect. By this I mean; -Directory keeps scrolling even when I stop holding t...

Preffered joypad for ZSNES needs?

Sorry for the GameFAQesque topic but I'm curious as to what gamepad you use ( ESPECIALLY if you play competitivley as in Zbattle) to get the most out of ZSNES. I Zbattle quite a bit and I'm using a stock PSX controller (not the chunky dual shock) and personally I think it suites the SNES perfectly ....

I tried the suggested WIP and got a look of the 'real' Starfox. To be honest I dont really find to be all that playable. The sub-10 fps is evident during virtually all the game and it tanks REALLY bad in some sections (controller issues more evident here too). To compare, I like the 'faster' Starfox...

Starfox / SFX question

Just a small question about SFX / starfox. From what I can gather Starfox runs 'too fast' in ZSNES (I wouldn't know if its true or not). Does this mean the frame rate is WORSE on a real snes? It chuggs along at about 15fps and the really noticeable delay between your controller input and the action ...

I tried out the ideas but I still get the same jerking issues. Also, the game runs at a slightly slower speed than normal with vsync enabled. Screen tearing didn't really stick out that much without vsync so It's not really much of a loss. Thanks anyway.

I never play on LAN (never had either) but I guess the desyncs are much less likely there. My experience is from zbattle netplay and I'm sure that Tetris Attack has serious issues with 1.42 that aren't evident is 1.36.
