Re: Let's kill some restrictive copyright/SOPA nonsense agai

I made this thread when I was very tired, so I edited my OP and fixed the typo. Online petitions can't hurt, so why not use online petitions AND harass politicians? We basically need to use every resource we have at our disposal to stay on these politicians' asses and make sure this horrid copyright...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

Yep, when I played fighters with the Pro and I pressed forward, it was very common for it to register a jump instead, but despite the floatiness I was usually able to pull off quarter circle, half and 360 motions rather easily along with most of the motions required in the King of Fighters series. I...

Let's kill some restrictive copyright/SOPA nonsense again!

Got the links from a youtuber named AlphaOmegaSin , good videos. DO NO VIEW THIS VIDEO AT WORK! TONS OF CURSING! His latest video is a rant about the re-introduction of some parts of the SOPA legislation with a petition you can sign. Please help raise awareness so we can kill this shit off once agai...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

I've killed Ocean Palace Lavos in NG+ several times; I'm simply doing it to challenge myself. Every time I've fought him during a replay, I've wiped the floor with him because I was at least level 50 or so with really good equipment. Trying to kill him at a low level without NG+ is pretty damn hard....

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

Isn't the improved 360 dpad only available on wireless controllers? I use a wired 360 pad for emulation and even with the floaty dpad I can play any game that isn't a shmup or fighter fairly well. I used to use one of those Gravis PSX knockoff pads with the VERY floaty dpad and I could even play fig...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

I was also disappointed with FFX's flare animation. FF4-9 have badass looking flare effects and I agree with you on the sound effects of FF4 Flare; it sounds so powerful, as it should. FFX's flare animation looks like someone lit a fart, especially compared to the awesome looking FF9 animation. I co...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

I'd like dpads that are AT LEAST as precise as Saturn pads, and those Madcatz fightpads are vastly inferior to a Saturn pad which is just inexcusable considering all the leaps in tech we've made since the Saturn. They're cheaply built, overpriced trash. I don't personally have a problem with the 360...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

I killed Ozma without completing the friendly monster sidequest so Ark or Doomsday would've healed him. I have no idea how I managed to kill him without auto-life(wasted a lot of points on status defense) or Dragon's Crest. I used Thievery(Zidane), Shock(Steiner), boosted Bahamut when I didn't need ...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

I should've phrased the Xenoblade part of that post differently, my mistake. I meant that you can use the Wiimote to play the game, although you're right that there's nothing specifically motion-based in it, and yes it does make it much more appealing to me. I'm FAR from the only person who dislikes...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

Note: The first 2 paragraphs are off-topic and a response to Gil. [/u] No, I bought MvC2 the day it came out, downloaded a pirated copy of it a few months later and burned it to a CD in case the original got damaged; it's not a direct backup. It's been a while since I've burned a game, and the only...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

We'll have to agree to disagree on motion and touch controls. I wasn't talking about MP3 in particular since I've never played ANY of the Prime games, but more about how motion is implemented as a whole. I could see myself being interested in games like Skyward Sword, DKC Returns and many other game...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

I meant emulated PS2 games with an upscaled/enhanced resolution; you knew what I meant since I was talking about running it on PC. Also Gil, why are you so picky about the terminology I use when it comes to DOWNLOADED, BURNED COPIES of games? Satisfied? Seriously, I don't understand why that's such ...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

My dislike of gimmicks is 100% pure opinion, not something that is correct or incorrect dude; forced gimmicks as a whole just annoy the living shit out of me. Like I said earlier, if different control schemes like motion/touch controls are 100% optional and a "standard" gamepad can be used...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

I use the term backup for legal reasons(even though I backed up CVS2 in late 2001), not because I'm worried about backlash here. I assume you guys don't give a damn since this IS an emu forum after all. CVS2 DC wasn't even released here and I don't wanna mess with boot discs or modding, so a backup ...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

I'm certainly no expert on the series but I had fun with ZM and Fusion, although SM is better in every way imo. I don't own a GC or Wii, so I could either buy a used Wii+classic or GC controllers to play prime and various other exclusives, or just use Dolphin once I upgrade my computer. My CPU is ra...

Re: Moast amazing thing you'll see all week

The 1st UFC card on that stupid Fox Sports 1 channel was awesome because Travis Browne knocked out Alistair Overeem with a front kick to the face, Anderson Silva style, plus a few punches/hammerfists on the ground to put him out completely. Overeem is a well known steroid cheater, so I really wanted...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

Damn, that looks awesome. I'll wait until it's complete so I can enjoy it with minimal bugs. I really miss 2d Metroid although I'm not at all experienced with the series other than Super Metroid and a bit of Fusion and Zero Mission. I've never even played the Prime games.

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

Damn, you guys are just better at games than I am by far. That fucking shovel heart frustrates the shit out of me every time I play LTTP. I've never gotten it instantly; the best I've done was 2nd or 3rd try and I considered that fast. I mostly play old JRPGs and arcade fighters; Shin Akuma from CVS...

Re: Best games for SNES

Damn vader, you sound like a SB savant! I've only played through Terranigma once and I did neglect lots of town development so I could progress through the story. I agree that there are WAY too many permanently missable sidequests/development arcs etc. I've watched a few YT videos of SB's gameplay a...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

odd, first off, you can't OD and die if you use too much weed; the worst thing that'll happen is that you'll either eat too much and/or pass out. You'll feel tired for a bit but there's no nasty hangover like with booze. This is from 2003, but there have been many studies that suggest cannabis can k...

Re: What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long

Nice. That's definitely an accomplishment especially since you got every item and heart piece with zero deaths or saves. How long did that take you to do? It'd take me so long that I'd end up passing out in front of my TV, but if I tried I'd just leave the game on while sleeping to avoid save/quits;...

Re: Best games for SNES

Personally, I like the World of Ruin. Reminds me of RPGing in the NES days, where they just threw you onto the map with an end goal and told you to go nuts. I really enjoy the openness too, but I would've liked a few more story-heavy sequences as well. I'm not sure what would've worked well story-w...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

What's wrong with weed? It's been a while since I've smoked but the only dangerous thing about weed is smoking, which can easily be eliminated by using a vaporizer or eating it. It's a hell of a lot safer than alcohol, and even though I smoked 6+ times a day for 3 years(not counting on/off smoking),...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

Doom RL looks pretty interesting, and I didn't even know it existed before your post. From the few videos I looked up on youtube, it seems like an interesting concept. I hate to be a graphics whore, but I wish the characters had nice, smooth animation. I'm sure I could still enjoy it since I have no...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Bad games? Nah, not at all. It's about their intent to rip off as many people as possible and that's a very large part of corporate culture- at least the largest, most powerful companies. Big banks and energy companies are especially guilty of malicious behavior, like denying climate change and ille...
