Re: 10 years since Zsnes v1.51

one of the things mentioned in that 1.53 changelog is the removal of directdraw, which nearly makes me cringe. I know for sure the most recent versions of higan and snes9x still have directdraw support but not chosen by default. zsnes isn't the only emulator taking a decade long break. Regen (the se...

Re: Has anyone tried to modify ZSNES with a better sound cor

I could tell with that as well. And I do sometimes use Snes9x, but the thing that bothers me with that is having to get the cheats from one rom over to another for that emulator. And some things that it has on it bothers me sometimes . Also, if someone modified ZSNES to support 8 MB roms now, can't...

what version of higan are you using?

v095 of higan runs only on 64bit Windows while the previous version (v094) can be used on either 32bit or 64bit edition of Windows.

Re: problems with windows 10 ?

sad to say that the intel hd graphics 3000 device may not be supported in windows 10 because intel did not make any win10 specific drivers for it. it seems your ASUS N53SV laptop is using hybrid nVidia/Intel graphics chipsets (boy I HATE these kinds of switchable hybrid graphic chipsets). AND ASUS d...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Is there any chance of the source being released in the future? Edit: I didn't mean to be rude to anyone with this post. not in the near future...at least not for the rest of 2015. yeah major bummer for pagefault's computer breaking down a few weeks ago. I recently fixed up an old HP pavilion a6110...

Re: Problem with Vista Home Premium (AMD x64)

The reason I keep emulator stuff on my drive is because all my ROMs are on there, because I don't want to take many gigabytes off my OS. wow, either you have a relatively small hard drive or you have a big hard drive that is more than 50% filled up. install a bigger & faster hard drive if neces...

Re: Problem with Vista Home Premium (AMD x64)

weird. I just tried out zsnes 1.51 on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3 GHz processor (an AMD64 based CPU) on an old HP Pavilion a6110n computer with Windows Vista SP2 Home Premium edition and zsnes runs just fine - no problems there; oh and I ran zsnes on a local hard disk drive, not an external one.

Re: 1.51 x64 audio crackling with Win8.1 x64

If it is a latency thing, try using either DPC Latency Checker or Latencymon to determine the real cause. It could be the outdated network drivers (WiFi/WLAN, or ethernet/LAN) that could be causing unusually high latency. Sounds weird but updating the network drivers and sound card drivers may help....

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

The sound problems are mostly fixed, there is a lot of sketchy stuff I had to add to get it working properly with the old code but I think sound was one of the #1 priorities to fix. I have spend most of my time still working on 2.0. Mainly just want people who choose to use ZSNES 1.x for whatever r...

Re: ZSNES 1.53 Changelog

- MS-DOS support has been completely removed (sorry guys). Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! aah-hahahaha! looks like 1.51 will be the last version to support MSDOS. :) I wonder if the upcoming 1.53 release will still work under win95, 98 & me. or will it require using at least windows 2000/xp?

Re: HELP!!

the behavior is "by design" but the smw hack should run okay in zsnes.
only the original smw hacker who made the hack can fix the checksum with the lunar magic tool

Re: Can't play SMW hacks

the original unmodified (and headered) SMW ROM should have a file size of exactly 524800 bytes. an original but non-headered SMW ROM should have a file size of exactly 524288 bytes. if the SMW hacks you obtained require the headered SMW ROM, check to see if the file size is correct. use the NSRT 3.4...
