There aren't 96 levels in SMW. There are 96 paths between levels that you can unlock.

I haven't checked either, but i don't think you have to kill bowser.

Make sure Vsync is enabled at your videocard driver settings too. If that doesn't work, try disabling your laptop screen so it only shows on your tv.

Also vsync usually doesn't work in windowed mode.

The 360 pad is kinda meh for me. The d-pad sucks is my main gripe. Xbox 1 S Controller + XBox->USB adapter + XBCD. Or a Saitek P880(I guess the P990 is just as good) WITHOUT the Saitek drivers(I prefer to use shift as a start button) Agreed Xbox360 dpad sucks. Xbox1 is better, but i prefer Logitech...

When i see software mixing, i would think the main 65816 processor does the mixing. While spcs are just savestates of the spc700 processor. So that would mean the spc700 processor mixes it. So which processor does the mixing in ToP?

Re: Secret of Mana

doesnt the SNES support 16 channels? How many channels can be disabled in ZSNES, SNES9x and SNESAmp? Before someone says "TOP can use 16 channels", there is software mixing done by the game to fit into 8 channels. There is ONLY 8 channels, period. How come spc's of Tales of Phantasia work?

Easiest way would be to use 640*480 and disable stretch in zsnes, then stretch the image to fullscreen using your monitor controls. Another way that i know works is adding the custom resolution 512*480 (512*448 does not work) using Powerstrip. Then use snes9x and choose this resultion. I never tried...

Can you try making an spc dump of "Castlevania 4 - Bloody Tears" without the organ/strings intro?

Bloody Tears is BGM 0E at the soundtest.

Spc question (need old zsnes version)

I want to rip a song from a game without the intro (bloody tears from castlevania 4 without the first 8 seconds). The newer versions of zsnes search for the songs start and then dump the spc. I don't want this. I remember that old versions of zsnes do not search for the songstart. Now i'm wondering ...

Maybe the music is unrippable to spc like it is the case with some other games like Lost Viking.

However, I found this midi for you!!! http://pinocchio.jk0.org/fuckRIAA/modplug/nbjteopn.mid

I never use Windows Media Player (what a piece of shit). My default player for video is Media Player Classic, but sometimes i use VLC too.
I use Foobar 2000 for mp3/flac/etc and Winamp for the video game music formats like spc/psf/etc.

iirc the -6 switch was inserted because there is/was ripping and tearing occuring with some users not using a frequency of multiple of 60 (eg: 60, 120, 180, etc) However, I can run ZSNES with little to no problem with 85, wonder why... :? The -6 switch is there because zsnes only perfectly smooth r...

I set my to 0dB. If you play some really loud games like UN Squadron it distorts at 7.5dB. And there exist even louder games than UN Squadron... There's nothing wrong when music is a little softer. It really won't affect the soundquality. Distortion or clipping however, will affect the quality a gre...

Re: SNES WINS NO CONTEST

Anyway, thats settled me on using SNES version. Question now is: Was that from the real SNES becasue I have to compare it to ZSNES and SNESAMP :) The arcade track is from Capcom Game Sound Music 4 and the snes track is recorded with Snesamp (settings: 44.1khz, 32bit, stereo(HQ), Cubic, "Surrou...

What the hell are you talking about? The snes music of SF2 sounds much better than the arcade music. The snes uses real samples while the arcade uses some crappy stone-age FM-synth.

SSF2 (and up) is a different story. With this version the arcade is better.

As for vysync, I cant seem to get it to work right. It jerks occasionally from its 60fps motion which really irritates me. The CPU usage hovers about 10-20% (2.6ghz CPU) without it but enabled it takes up 100% usage and causes the screen to jerk about (High pirority mode set). The screen tearing do...

yes, that volume control sucks. I need one that is visable in the interface and that alters the master volume of my soundcard.
