Honestly, as ZSNES has not been updated in over a decade, it may be for the best to change to SNES9x or BSNES anyways. There are numerous known emulation issues in ZSNES that are not going to be fixed any time soon. Thanks for the advice--saves seem to be working just fine with SNES9x. Didn't know ...

Files are in C:\oldgames\SNES
This is really baffling and caused me to stop using the emulator unless it can be remedied. Not being able to use emulator saves is one thing, but not being able to use the game save is just silly.

Not sure if anyone is still around, but I am having the precise problem of the original poster and can't figure out why. I played DKC 1 quite a bit and used Candy's save barrels--NOT emulator save states--and when I fire up the game today, there is nothing in the game slots. I have a SNES directory ...
