NHancer doesn't run...

I can see the logo when I double click the program but after a while it fades and then nothing happens, isn't a window meant to open? D: Edit: Does it have some lame noob protection mechanism that stops it from running under Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Release Candidate 1? Edit 2: After checking there ...

Re: AMD & NV drivers - now with OpenGL 4.1 + OpenCL 1.1 supp

And UAC is a useful tool, as not every process that is launched can pop up a UAC dialog to ask for full elevation, and even for processes that can, it's still a measure better than every single process that opens having total access to your complete Windows installation. Then again, as everyone bec...

Re: AMD & NV drivers - now with OpenGL 4.1 + OpenCL 1.1 supp

my tv has a 1080p24 mode. the frequency still looks unnatural to me, but i'm pretty sure it's like gil said and it's because of the interpolated frames. the 240 Hz tv's i've seen at best buy seem to overcome that issue for me. I wouldn't touch 240/200hz displays ever. They interpolate between sourc...

Yeah ZSNES 1.42 and 1.36 still support Super Mario RPG fairly well, laggy yes but playable from start to finish.

Re: State of SNES Emulation - 2010

I get random pauses/stutter in games like Banjo Kazooie on Project64 which I don't get on my PAL N64 console so it very likely is the emulator at fault. (I play it with the Glide64 "Napalm" WX plugin). I'm not talking about sudden area transitions like hitting a switch etc. that triggers s...

Creative + Windows 7 = not a good combination. Creative have been incredibly slack at making decent drivers for Vista/7. If you were to go for a sound card then I'd recommend an Auzentech card even though they use the same SPU Creative make.

Try using the DPC Latency Checker, you should get green bars all the time unless doing something particularly taxing.

Re: State of SNES Emulation - 2010

My fat PS2 bought in 2004 still plays DVD's perfectly fine, same with PS1 and PS2 games. It's the controllers crappy shoulder buttons that break so easily for me. L2 and R2 have the little plastic stopper thing snap so you can push the buttons in too far at an angle. I've had 4 official controllers ...

Re: State of SNES Emulation - 2010

The Xbox 360 problems arise from poor solder work. Essentially, the chips heat up and the pins come loose. I know people who have fixed the problem by resoldering the GPU/CPU chips back on manually. I thought it was mostly because they used a plastic mount for the optical drive rather then a metal ...

So, I take it that BSNES is considered the most accurate SNES emulator at this point? I've never tried it, so maybe I'll give it a look sometime. Bingo. In fact, BSNES is the ONLY SNES emulator that can correctly play Air Strike Patrol(in a subversion, since the pixel-based renderer slows it down s...

Can not play with 1.36/1.42n and Save Data...

Hi, we can play using Netplay in ZSNES 1.36 and 1.42n when we set Save Data to "none" but it hangs every time the host loads a ROM if Save Data is set to "Remote". What can cause this strange behavior? Also UDP occasionally works but very often doesn't let the players connect at ...

Re: Does upgrading prevent loading saves?

Save States are not compatible between versions of the emulator, load the game in the old version and go to a Save Game location in the game and save it there. Now load the game in the new emulator version and at the Secret of Mana Load Game screen your character should be present.
