Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Happy New Year, I guess, and Zsnes' main programmer has gone silent, what a way to start 2018

Of course, but the real question is, are there people interested?badinsults wrote:Nothing is stopping anyone from forking zsnes. Some people have done that with SNES9x. These recent "official" releases of SNES9x are actually not official, but none of the original authors have said no to them.

Re: nVidia Share/"Shadowplay" causes zsnes to stutter/freeze
Have you considered trying Snes9x 1.55 now that it's out? I don't see Zsnes ever getting updated, I mean, the only one working on it has gone silent.

Re: Problems with save state
No point in waiting around for Zsnes 2.0 since Pagefault has gone silent, people should try Snes9x 1.55 now that it's officially out.

Yeah, I mean unless the main coder shows up with an announcement to the contrary, the emulator is, well, in a coma.

Re: James Pond 3 Operation Starfish graphical problems.
Probably. ZSNES is known to have a lot of flaws. No one cares about bug reports because a ground-up rewrite is coming any day now, in Valve time. In other words, it's never happening  I did not say that. I did not MEAN that. If Duke Nukem Forever can ship, there is always hope. Well, I'm n...

Re: Running ZSNES On Android
You can fix file associations in Windows 7 easily. Good luck playing Earthworm Jim 2 with sound effects, which are completely missing. Or ZMZ, Snes9x core running in a Zsnes GUI. But who am I kidding, I never convinced anyone before, no point in me trying to show my side over here. SNES9X.. should ...

Re: Running ZSNES On Android
I still find it funny that people think it's better than Snes9x XD. I find I really don't like Snes9x... just opening it was enough to steal some file extensions... and I have not been able to edit and remove them... I use a program called Types to edit file type associations... http://ystr.github....

What he said. ZSNES and SNES9x used to be neck and neck, but time moves on. At this point ZSNES is like NESticle: recommended based on info several years outta date. I've done many empirical tests to prove how superior Snes9x but people hold on to Zsnes like Internet Explorer 6; ambiguous, popular,...

Re: Running ZSNES On Android
Yes, you could run ZSNES through DOSBox, but... why not run an actual Android-based Super Nintendo emulator instead? Less complexity, better battery life, and no jumping through hoops. ZSNES has the highest percentage of game compatibility. Snes9x comes pretty close, and does have an android port, ...

Wow, these forums are...well, kinda dead, so what now? We shitpost. As tempting as that is, well, heh. I mean, Snes9x 1.54.1 now has fully functional MSU-1 support (well, a special MSU-1 build of it made by Qwertymodo). Zsnes' state is an enigma. And thus, shitpost. Bump an old thread. File a bug r...

Re: Has anyone tried to modify ZSNES with a better sound cor
About the input lag discussion: I notice it in the NTSC version of Super Mario Kart on Snes9x, and I use a keyboard to play (since PS3 controllers aren't natively supported by Windows, and I haven't bought an Xbox to USB cable yet). However in ZSNES, I barely noticed any input lag and generally hav...

Re: Has anyone tried to modify ZSNES with a better sound cor
I personally never had that issue, I use an Xbox 360 controller without any issues, be that as it may, the amount is negligible. Snes9x shares the same S-SMP core Bsnes/Higan uses, which was programmed by Blargg, it's very accurate and spot on to the real machine IMHO. Oddly enough, injecting Earth...
