If a sound card can't do 16bit, it doesn't even deserve to be classified as a sound card. The audio industry won't stop at these if you don't draw the line, you know. There was never any worthwhile advantage above 16/48. If it isn't the human limit, then it's so damn close that the slightly detecta...

I'd like to get the custom memory mapping .pcb file format in there. It will serve as an important fall-back in case we spot any false cart detections immediately after the next release. Unlikely, but just in case. Been waiting for this one :) I was looking at a recent thread where someone was aski...

That gives me an idea(probably impossible)

the load window could have types
snes rom(any)
bsx rom
and so forth...

But that would mean that bsnes scans the files and creates a library(because windows can only use that function based on extention)

The real thing would change too, it would change from down to up, the button would be in the same place but it would physically look different. Also it was impossible to turn it on and off at the same time. Yes, it was one switch with two settings, both visible regardless of which one it was on. An...

Power On/Off (changes dynamically)(replaced with powercycle when advanced option is selected) Not only is this difficult to do, why hide the current setting? Did it hide itself on a real system? You should be able to see what mode a switch is on, not have to infer it based on the manifestation of t...

Made a completely new one There are basically 3 things we're dealing with Bsnes the program Snes the console Display the tv/monitor Bsnes needs to have: -About -Exit -Configuration -Audio logging snes needs to have: -All ports -power button(powercycle) -reset button -over/underclocking dial Display ...

Awesome. Power OFF should remember the inserted cart, but should reset ram/registers. This feature would be even better if bsnes remembers the cart even after exit. So the next time you open bsnes you can go to power on and start playing again (basically bringing back the last game played history) I...

New WIP. The main thing is that all of the "Load N Cartridge ..." options Awesome, You combined the best parts of everyones ideas and made it even better :D Unload cart does appear to have limited use, so if necessary, we can consider removing that, I suppose :/ Well it should guarantee a...

Yeah, I got it for about $250. Byuu says he's going to be busy with some non-bsnes related projects, but something should eventually come of this and I'm sure he'll post here again when it does. YESSSSSSSSSSSS You rock FitzRoy!!! (And i don't even really play BS-X games, but there is one reallllly ...

Some ROMS are supposed to have a bad checksum to run. If you run into a red screen with auto-fix checksum enabled, it's one of those games. Just like some games need SRAM to be disabled to run correctly (Pugsy for example). Yeah, so in those cases the rom is wrong and the emulator is correct. Auto-...

Then the games that require checksums to be fixed are either bad dumps or have broken headers that need fixing.

Do we have a list of games that require fixing?

Then from that list, does the no-intro version of the game still need the fix?

Some games check these (for integrity) and will lock if not correct (red or black screen). Some games (puggsy) use it for protection as well.

So correct dumps don't need this fix right?

Great news.

However to protect the buy i suggest removing these 3 post till after you win the bid, as to prevent emu-unfriendlies from rising the price too much.

Change it to "I'm about to get a Sattelaview, please stop any buying attempts untill further order" or something like that...

Hmmm ... if we're trying to make the descriptions match real hardware, rather than an emulator, and if we're trying to eliminate any delays in functioning ... how about something like this? http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/875/bsmockupph9.jpg NTSC filter would be mandatory, eliminating that menu....

May i suggest an extra top level menu entry. system;game;settings;misc And for the submenus: "Game" -Cheats --On/off (dynamic) --Load --Cheat-menu -Patches --On/off (dynamic) --Load Cheats would allow loading of cheat.file and the regular cheat menu Patchs would allow loading of patches.fi...

Imho they both have something going for them. FitzRoy's looks cleaner overall. creaothceann's has less submenus. I vote for FitzRoy's the slight slowdown and missclick chance is worth it when i consider the following points: -The power-on with.. list is likely to grow eventually when more cart types...

Does the cleanup of the OBC-1 code have any effect on its speed or accuracy? The chip is the most simplistic of all. It's a very, very, very simple memory re-mapper to help with OAM (sprite) table building. It was already bit-perfect. I just cleaned it up a touch, suppose it wasn't really worth men...

Is it actually possible to compile a 64bit version of bsnes? for windows too?

Would the increased register size help performance or weaken it?
