Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Well we have OpenGL now so you can trilinear filter the image and get the same effect as before if it really bothers you.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Ok done, I think 1.52 is coming close to being done, provided this is not the rewrite I was talking about but it's an excuse to release stuff we forgot about a long time ago and fix security problems.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I had a question does anyone use the R (not the DR modes). They are very limited and don't support filters or high-res mode and i'm considering dropping support for them because we need to update the rendering engine in 1.5x to work properly on Windows 8 and later.
Thoughts?

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I'm doing development on an older linux machine now so it gives me more motivation to make it run faster. I'm going to wait on the new intel processors to buy anything I think.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Yeah guys I only said I was exploring features like this, some of it seems like it may not be possible in the way you might expect. I'm more focused on getting the emulator part of it working right then working on the bells and whistles. There is a problem right now with getting the SPU and DSP work...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Project is on hold for a while, my PC is not working properly right now. Need to get a new motherboard, ram and cpu since i'm still on an old Core 2.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Yeah I mean right now you can use the adaptive vsync that nvidia provides with the latest code or you can lock it to 30 fps (if you want to). I am not sure what FreeSync is but I will look into it, I order a GSYNC monitor so I will be supporting it, I think it would be worthwhile because even on a f...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I would like to add gsync support to it, but I don't have such a monitor right now. I think it would be a good feature to add though especially for emulators.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Ok I won't spent too much time on mode 7 enhancements. I am working on the debugger right now as I have run into some games that are having some problems and a debugger will help out a bit to figure out what is going on rather than the cpu trace dumps I have right now. That said I need to find other...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Oh yeah there will be probably a ZSNES 1.52? release coming in the following days, with some stuff we had unfinished in SVN and some security fixes. Don't expect anything major different from 1.51 and this is not reflective of what is in development. Will it at least use the S-SMP core that Blargg ...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Some updates, we have most games that use mode 0,1,2,3 (mode 4 is mostly working). Mode 7 is up next to get going since a lot of games use it and will probably be the most challenging to do properly and quickly. I had a few questions from the community on how I should do this. Are you interested in ...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
The old code won't be maintained. As for copiers I don't care about the extra chip support since I manly just want it to run some basic tests on it. I'm still using a copier that is about 20 years old now with a floppy drive. Still works ok but floppies are getting harder to find lol. I am happy to ...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
the new version is a complete rewrite it doesn't share anything with the old code base, still looking at a late July alpha as i'm the only one working on right now and progress is whenever I have time.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
It works on every platform, except iOS and Mac since I don't have those but should work in theory if someone were to compile it.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Ok I will take a look. I wrote unit tests for the new ZSNES. I want to make sure they pass on the console and the emulator so we don't regress on any bugs and keep max compatibility. I started work on the graphics tenderer but it looks like I am going probably need help with this since graphics aren...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Yeah I got the money back for one of them, the other one is in dispute now and probably will be refunded as well so nothing is lost, just a waste of time. Anyway they both said the tested and cleaned the unit but I guess they didn't do a good job actually testing it or sent me the wrong one since th...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I ordered two of them, the first one wouldn't even power on (tried different adapters and everything) and I requested a refund but he said I had to pay for shipping it back ($25) from here so I was kinda pissed off and working with paypal on that one. The second one the cart slot can barely make a c...
