He probably can use filters—in lower resolutions, anyway. So they should be fine for him to use now.

I think it was probably the video settings (lower resolution, fullscreen instead of windowed) that made the biggest difference. It does for me.

He doesn't need to do that; he said the performance has improved.

What evar wrote:At least add it to the FAQ.
I've been using ZSNES for years, and I had no idea AT ALL that deleting the .cfg and .dat files could make such an immense difference.
It was added to the FAQ after the release of 1.42. You'll see it when 1.43 is released. :)

Also, you may want to adjust your sound settings to see what difference that makes. Lower sampling rates will be faster (32000 Hz is what the SNES uses), but it can also distort the sound if you go lower than the default. Gaussian is the default sound interpolation used (it's used by the SNES), but ...

Make sure V-sync is NOT checked (including Triple Buffering, because this feature requires V-sync active anyways) Triple Buffering does not require Vsync. When enabled alone it can help eliminate screen tearing, but it also slows down everything in general. So does Vsync, so avoid both of them if y...

Did you make sure that MMX Support is enabled in the Options window? That would probably make a big difference in the overall speed.

BTW, I hope you're using the Windows version of ZSNES; the DOS one does not run well under XP. The main file should be 'zsnesw.exe'.

AspiringSquire, I know you weren't talking to me but I just want to clarify that the music comment I made was an attempt at humor. You know make a list of things to do but one of them is unrelated. So if the user name "jreberry" is related to music that's not what I was talking about. Ah,...

His troubles do not come from a PAD, but from his domotic central unit. I usually don't ask what a word means, but I have never seen "domotic" anywhere else, and the dictionary sources I searched have nothing about it. I can infer meaning, but what is domotic, and why isn't it in regular ...

Also, try using Winrar or Winzip to unzip the file. 7zip is excellent as well (it's freeware!). ;) IZArc is a really good freeware archiving utility, too. I prefer it over 7-zip, actually. It supports many more formats than 7-zip, and seems to be more stable overall.   You hav...

I should make a larger version of this icon, shouldn't I? :) Since you brought that up... I just compared the old ZSNES icon to the new one, and at the smallest resolution, the old icon was much more readable where it says ZSNES; the one used now is almost completely illegible. Do you think you mig...

That filter should come back. Agreed. Oh, and I'll volunteer to write a new filter that cannot be tricked by using extra spaces, BBCode, or non-ascii chars. That could be fun. And while you're at it, please consider adding "The Zsnes" ( ) as a trigger  That would be great. Peo...

What triggers the filters for Snes9x and NSRT? I've tried every logical misspelling that I could imagine for Snes9x, but I never found the "correct" wrong way.

I suspect that this was probably due to .cfg and .dat files from an old version of ZSNES. It is highly recommended that you delete the config files each time you install a new version of ZSNES to avoid compatibility issues and various unpredictable problems.

What he meant to say was that the fix applied for the bug in FF3/FF6 caused the new bug in Chrono Trigger. That first sentence should have been:
"The recent bug added to CT is a result of this bugfix."

I've been waiting for this since... I saw that uosnes could play it. :P
I'm sure ZSNES will make it work much better, though, in the end.

Progress it is, and pleased am I for the greatness of the developers' contributions to the world of SNES Emulation. 8) Go team!

Not that I'm supporting the idea, but couldn't ZSNES just send the command instructions to NSRT so it can deal with a ROM separately?
