Well, then again, Gens hasn't been updated to work outside of a 16-bit color environment. If you're going to use Gens, then I suggest giving Gens+ a shot over the original Gens (it's better). But the best overall Genesis/Megadrive emulators are still Kega Fusion and Regen. About the frame skipping i...

Them being 15 years old is irreverent. It may take another 15 years before they can be emulated fully for all we know. a normal core2duo should be able to emulate them without probs If it was that simple, do you think support for those chips would have been added ages ago? The answer is in the lack ...

i think that it is better to concentrate on game compatibility (emulate the special ships like fx, sa-1 etc and hardware) so i hope that all special chips and hardware will be emulated by bsnes in the future in the near future.... :-) Unless you have a flying DeLorean that can travel 30 years into ...

Yes, you are right. But turbo mode completely disables timing sync and lets the emu run as fast as it can but since vsync is enabled it won't since the DX will block the emu until vblank. So in effect, we are swithing from syncing to sound to syncing to video ;) . Just like bsnes has those two opti...

Hi, Well, since you have that PC right now can you test something? Can you enable VSync while in being windowed mode and enable turbo mode (backspace key) and see if it creates any frame skips/sound skips? Hmmm, I thought turbo mode doesn't work while VSync is enabled in the latest beta (in windowe...

Load up Road Rash III and set the M68000 Overclocking feature to 3000, then set it to 4000 and it'll silently crash. Probably would crash on the real thing as well :) . As I said on sonicretro as well, this game is timing sensitive. True, but it shouldn't crash the program itself. :P Have like a di...

Kega Fusion and Regen are the best Genesis/Megadrive emulators out there. Sounds to me the problem might lay in the firmware of the graphics card. Do you use the default settings for the graphics card? Also, do you have the Show FPS options on in both Kega and Regen, if so, do you notice any drops i...

All I want is 100% of the 100% correct specifications emulated. Probably impossible. There's still many unknown things about the Genesis/Megadrive that may NEVER be found out. Look at the YM2612 that only recently was found by Nemesis. 100% is unrealistic, but it should come pretty close. Same thin...

Hopefully someone rich will one day buy these collections and make clean dumps for emu developers (and us gamers) to use. *Hopefully* Don't hold your breath. For example, there's prototypes of the Genesis games Sonic 1 and Sonic 3 (with MJ's music) out there being hoarded by game collectors, and th...

No, by everything he's doing for the Sega Genesis gaming/emulation community over the years. :) Honestly, he deserves a honorable thanks in all Genesis/Megadrive emulators... because it wasn't for Kega and the past incarnations created by Steve Snake, Gens, Ages and all other emulators wouldn't be o...

Mmmm, I sure hope not. :P It's the second most accurate overall, and as accurate for some games yes. To be honest, it'll probably take a great amount of time and a LOT of hardware testing, and possibly a couple core rewrites to get Regen's core up to Kega's overall. Don't you wish Snake was more ope...

AamirM, you're not telling me that Steve Snake's core is still better?! Yes, it is (I'm not going to sugar coat it or deny it). Snake's YM2612 core is the most complete and most accurate overall out of them all right now, even though it does lack some of the things Nemesis has found as of late, and...

Ok, I think I found something else, and something else too... -In X-Men (U) [!], the sound the Juggernaut makes when running sounds higher pitched than what I remember from the real hardware and Kega. I believe Kega gets this particular case right. -In X-Men (U) [!] in the Excalibur's Lighthouse lev...
