Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I see where you're coming from but I oppose the idea of charging for emulators, so like nintendo_nerd said it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask for donations and such so at least ZSNES, if continued, stays free. Personally I'd rather ZSNES remain as it is and retain its amazing legacy than become for-pr...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Another question: is 2.0 going to be available on x64 machines? I'm running Vista on an AMD x64 machine so I don't know. I'm too lazy to go through the whole thread right now but I specifically asked that question ITT or in another thread(maybe in a PM) and got "Yes". Devs, correct me if ...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
It's one thing to fuck around and give you a hard time for being slow but anyone who is seriously bashing you and sending mean spirited emails needs to fuck off because like blackmyst said, it's a free emulator and the devs aren't getting paid shit which means they have to juggle jobs/family life an...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I can't comment on the technical problems but this sounds like ridiculously hard work, so thanks for continuing to work on it despite the setbacks. It must be rather frustrating getting everything to to run perfectly, emulating all the components of the system, enhancement chips etc. Just sounds stu...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Gil: Meteor causes massive amounts of slowdown in the PS1 port and the mode 7 effect of the spell is totally nerfed. Which is odd since it's not a mode 7 effect, and shouldn't be particularly challenging to reproduce. Huh, just assumed it was because of the cool ass zoom effect but that does make i...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
The PS1 ports were just quick, lazy ass cash-in ports and nothing else, but Anthology did expose more people to FFV which is good, but the hacked/restored GBA version or just the original SNES version are both vastly superior. GBA version has the best translation I assume, but I don't know Japanese....

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Very excited to try the new ZSNES out when it's far enough along for a beta to be released. When I originally heard about ZSNES being worked on for phones, I thought it was just a port and nothing else tbh but this is a really pleasant surprise, and I can't wait to compare it to 9x and BSNES. Speed ...

Re: music festivals
Can't say I've been to one but they certainly sound like fun. Eat some weed brownies, take about 4g of shrooms and let go for a while. I'm a bit of an introvert myself but I'd like to trip at a music festival at least once in my life.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I found 2 on Amazon from sellers that have 98% or better seller ratings and lots of reviews, but they're not exactly cheap and they're bare bones. $58, bare bones, 98% positive seller rating, 3,649 total rating in the last 12 months. $57, bare bones, 98% positive with 639 ratings in the past 12 mont...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Well that's a goddamn mess. Hope you're not out too much man and that you can get an actual working SNES for a reasonable price. I've bought used games/controllers but not consoles. How many broken ones have you been sold so far, or just this one?

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
Martin Marietta in the case of the Model 2. The Lockheed merger didn't happen until later. And Martin supplied the texture-mapping technology, which had been developed for professional flight simulators. Apparently, it was re-implemented by Sega to get it down to an affordable price. Model 3 used s...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
That's understandable because the only reason I switched to 9x was because ZSNES runs like ass in Windows 8/8.1.(glad I made the switch, and I'll likely switch back when the new ZSNES comes out) My thought was if it aint broke, don't fix it plus the older versions are able to run at full speed on ab...

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
Man, you're full of info about old consoles. When I post I(mostly) try to just state what I know off the top of my head minus stuff like launch prices. I also didn't know the pippin had a 4x CD-rom which would've cut down considerably on the long ass load times the PSX & Saturn were infamous for...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Yeah even though it's still in its early stages, it's really nice to hear about serious progress being made. I hope it's the best SNES emulator out there when it's released.(faster than BSNES/higan, more accurate than 9x)

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I am playing Beer Simulator 2015 except that it is not a simulator at all. Weed simulator 2015 is much safer, more fun, and simply a superior game. Beer Simulator can cause violent behavior, poisoning and addiction while Weed Simulator's only downside is the munchies and the awful censorship of it ...

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
So basically it was just a rushed cash grab with no substance to put it simply? I have no fucking idea how one could even use that "controller" with any sort of precision.(probably can't) I've been trying to find the launch price but the only result I've found was Giantbomb which states it...

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
Good point. The DKC gamess all look amazing(especially 2, and I agree on the others as well) and they surprisingly don't use accelerators at all, but I was speculating about what the SNES could do if it was pushed to its absolute limits WITH an accelerator chip, whether it be the SA-1, SFX1-2, DSP1-...

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
I know nothing about the RCA studio 2 so I can't really comment, but the 32x actually got a half decent, albeit visually compromised port of Virtua Fighter. I think it was even less buggy than the initial buggy ass SS release. MK2 could've been so much better but Probe sucked balls and released a ha...

and people think Superman 64 is bad. Bubsy 3d is a serious contender for the worst game of all time but I think the awful graphics, shit controls and retarded main character simply take 90s 'tude to the next level, telling the players themselves to choke on a bag of dicks. Brilliant!

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
I actually enjoy that game as embarrassing as it is to admit that, but it's a pretty solid little platformer. The fact that I'm playing a commercial is a little jarring but I played it quite a bit when I was in grade school. Didn't make me crave 7UP though, even as a kid. 2nd game was ass.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Sounds like it's going to be significantly faster than 9x 1.53 then which is awesome. I had some audio problems with 9x when playing SA-1 & SuperFX games until I fucked with the settings for a little while(AMD 6120 3.5ghz, 6 cores but it's MUCH slower than Intel CPUs of similar speeds/# of cores...

Re: 1.51 x64 audio crackling with Win8.1 x64
Stick with 9x 1.53, go to sound settings and switch the sound driver to XAudio2. Directsound gave me tons of crackling but XA2 is much, much cleaner. Changing the sound driver to XA2 made the most difference for me, but if there's still crackling, go to video settings and make sure "hi-resoluti...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Ideally, how fast will the rewritten ZSNES be compared to SNES9x 1.53? I know it's still early but if everything turns out the way you want it to, what would be the minimum system requirements to run ZSNES 2.0 at full speed with sound? I have a slow computer atm which is why I'm asking, but it can r...
