Re: Looking to build a new PC [EDIT: Built]
Fortunately for you, all Sandy Bridge mobos are being recalled since their SATA ports have issues. Oh well, the platform itself is limited to only 2 6Gbps Intel ports (usually comes with another 2 via 3rd party chips)... somehow AMD has had the upper hand for a bit on the standard (except for their ...

Re: ZSNES stops working in Ubuntu after changing resolution.
Look for ~/.zsnes/zsnes.cfg and edit it with your preferred text editor and edit the section where resolutions are referred to.

It's the drama behind the scenes that you are missing, which gives grin better insight than those that simply take byuu's side on all things that they do not know the reality of.

Re: zsnez wont load or save states
If you directly copied the zsnesw.cfg file from the old computer, it is referencing directories that is not on your machine (it is only applicable to the machine it was on). I suggest you edit zsnesw.cfg and point it to the folder where all the savestates are kept.

Re: Can't open zsnes - mac
Try rebooting and/or deleting the folder and see if that helps. Windowed mode is much more useful than fullscreen in many cases.

Re: Can't open zsnes - mac
Delete zsnes.cfg if you can find it... if Macs use Linux/unix conventions, try looking in ~/.zsnes (it would be a hidden user folder I think).

Re: Need MAJOR help with my ZSNES emulator
What you've posted is not directory listings... My suggestion to you is to delete zsnesw.cfg if you're so concerned, in order that ZSNES recreates the file and start in the default folder (wherever the ZSNES folder happens to be). You will have to redo your other settings if that is the case. I seri...

Re: Need MAJOR help with my ZSNES emulator
You should really learn how folders work... as I think you've selected [C:] so now you ended up in your root folder. If you know where you put your game files in (use Windows Explorer or something to tell you where exactly it is), just follow the path the same way. Also, if the game isn't actually s...

Mac never had it... as said before.
The Mac port was made AFTER 1.42 was released. 1.42 was the last netplay version... then the stripping of the netcode occurred.

It wasn't removed because it "worked". It was removed because it was unreliable in a fundamental sense... the coding, the syncing or lack thereof in many cases.

My suggestion is that you learn the controls for the game. The Start button does not control the menu.

You should be using the 1.51 compiled one in the Mac thread... not the 1.43 version that we hadn't had much involvement in.

Make sure that the zip file contains a single game, because it does not treat zip files like a directory.

Re: HELP PLEASE- huge resolution problem
It sounds like you're not using the OpenGL modes. Using the non-OpenGL modes will produce that effect.
Chances are, you need to add in the OpenGL/MESA libs IIRC so the OpenGL modes will work for you

Re: AMD & NV drivers - now with OpenGL 4.1 + OpenCL 1.1 supp
If you are resorting to using the Windows firewall for actual protection, you have problems.
.NET is not slow. Poor coding is still poor. I use Intel's Rapid Storage software... it uses .NET 2.0 (it uses .NET 3.0 in the 10.x series). I've used other .NET stuff.. it's not slow either.

I never said that that one should use GLQuake, but older apps do crash because they don't do a good enough job of the extension list.

Re: ATI and NVIDIA drivers - now with FULL OpenGL 4.1 suppor
I noticed they still havent got a OpenGL extension limiter like Nvidia has.... Sigh. Extension limiter? For older games, they use a fixed buffer instead of parsing everything that is sent... given that OpenGL additions usually increase the # of extensions over time. When you have "too many&quo...

The latter is more ideal, given concerns for future proofing (also, from what I gather, USB 3.0 devices can't run on USB 2.0 ports, it's not like USB 2.0 on 1.1 ports where it just runs at lower bandwidth, so more expense on the motherboard might be wise). USB is all about backwards compatibility (...
