Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Alright, I'll try to stop going off topic unless someone asks me a question about that shit or something. How far along is the remade ZSNES at this moment? 9x is a great emulator with a few sound bugs but since ZSNES was my 1st emulator in 98 I absolutely love the interface. Will the interface/GUI b...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Yeah I know I'm long winded; I haven't posted on a forum in a LONG time and have way too much shit to say. I guess being fullscreen gives it the advantage of being able to display more shit at once, but I've been using Windows for so long that the start menu is second nature, and the compatibility i...

What's your greatest gaming conquest?(not nearly as long)

I fucked this thread up by rambling on too much, so what is your personal best gaming accomplishment? Mine is being able to consistently beat the World arcade version(all default settings, no save states or other cheats) of Ghouls n Ghosts although I still die a lot on that fucking maggot/worm boss ...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

My main point is that Classic Shell improves Win8 drastically since it doesn't disable the charms bar and gives you the option of using both the new layout and the old start menu. I'm also not passing my opinions over as fact; they're just my personal opinions and experiences. I will admit Win8 is v...

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS

I haven't been playing any modern games because of DLC scams, having to be online all the time(passes) for some of them etc, so I've been on a classic RPG binge lately along with lots of old Capcom and SNK fighters like The Last Blade 1-2, KOF series, SF2 Hyper Fighting, Vampire Savior, 3rd Strike a...

Re: PSX vs Saturn for 2D games?

Dodanpachi for the psx was a much better arcade port than the Saturn version, but that's probably because the Saturn was harder to program for and the port was rushed. Generally speaking though the Saturn kicks the Playstation's ass in 2-d games, especially due to the 1 and 4 meg RAM carts. X-men VS...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Dude, I admitted I'm not at all tech savvy so I don't really get why you want to argue with me about Win8 so much. A LOT of people agree with me on this and when I said I don't use apps I was talking about the specific phone-like programs that go full screen that you have to drag to the bottom of th...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

I do know about the key shortcuts in Win8, but isn't that basically like a dumbed down DOS prompt? I never use apps but when they're opened, you have to grab them with the mouse and drag them to the bottom of the screen to close them, which just strikes me as stupid and very unintuitive. Since I'm n...

Re: Looking for opinions on the Mayflash Saturn/PS2/N64 adap

I;m actually really terrible at Ghouls, died constantly and beat the Genesis version on professional because of infinite continues. Took me about 2 hours to beat it completely since that maggot kept kicking my ass. The 360 pad I used is fairly new so it's a tiny bit tighter than one that's been worn...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

Well, I really know nothing about how to create/program an OS but I've been relying on the start menu since 1995 and I just found it silly to completely discard it. Maybe they should have given users the option of using the new menu or reverting back to the classic Windows 95 style start menu. I don...

off-topic ghouls n' ghosts shit

Bit of bragging on my part I know, but although the 360 D-pad sucks ass with shmups and fighters, I was able to beat Ghouls n' Ghosts(Genesis) on professional mode with the 360 D-pad; I don't want to further wear my Saturn pad so I ONLY use it for fighters and shmups like Dodonpachi(really awesome a...

Re: Looking for opinions on the Mayflash Saturn/PS2/N64 adap

To be fair, at least I was able to pull off KOF and Capcom style supers consistently with that old Gravis pad, but it had the same problems as the 360 D-pad with the diagonals being inconsistent and almost always accidentally jumping when pressing back or forward which was just straight up annoying....

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

I've tried basically every possible sound configuration in 9x, but the crackling is still there, although it doesn't happen unless there are rapid bass-heavy sounds like in SF2 WW/Hyper fighting. It's annoying but I still use it all the time and other than that bug, 9x works perfectly. Disabling the...

UPDATE: got both the controller and adapter(long)

I bought a used Model Mk-80116 Saturn pad(not a knockoff, the real deal) and one of the Mayflash SS/N64/PS2 adapters, and it's fucking awesome. Even though the controller is used and has a couple signs of wear superficially(surprisingly good condition though) all the buttons and the D-pad work flawl...

Looking for opinions on the Mayflash Saturn/PS2/N64 adapter

I'm planning on buying a used Saturn pad(Model Mk-80116) plus a Mayflash Saturn/PS2/N64 USB adapter to play arcade fighters and shooters. It's a damn shame that today's modern controllers don't even come close to the precise perfection of the Saturn pad, and beware of those PlaySega knockoffs; it on...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

I'm not at all tech savvy as I stated before, but maybe supporting directx 9+ would allow me to run the emulator in full screen, but I really have no idea and from what I've heard, 1.51 just isn't compatible with Windows 8 or 64-bit operating systems in general. Older versions of arcade emus such as...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development

I know absolutely nothing about programming, but I do hope the next ZSNES is compatible with Windows 8/64-bit Windows in general. snes9x64 is a good emulator, but the sound crackling is incredibly annoying since I have ridiculously sensitive/good hearing. I actually prefer the sound in ZSNES 1.51 be...
