I was talking about PNG format. AT least in my paint program, it claims only available in 256 color mode.

As you can see the joypad image doesn't fit with the background colour. Is it an option to apply transparency to the image? I would need to do that myself. Byuu might screw up the edges around the controller, but I can do it easily enough from the render output. Edit: Transparency can only be done ...

Yay marquee themes!

I just finished one I made based on Chrono Trigger's menu graphics. I made it for 1680x1050 fullscreen with no aspect correction. Here's a smaller preview of how it looks:

I recall doom was around 8 MB or so. Probably the biggest waste of space, but then again, the PS1 only accepted CD format games.

Compare that to the 4-bit sound chip found in the Game Boy. Still, good enough . I was always told there's no such thing as a 4-bit chip. That it started with 8-bit and went in doubles from there: 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. And that when companies claim "24-bit" stuff, its actually just a 16-bit...

I decided to try my own attempt to digitally fix & enhance blackmyst's logo. Nothing fancy, just some re-alignment of the letters and I gave the sword some viagra Corrected version: http://www.firebrandx.com/downloads/bmystlogocorrected.jpg Original version: http://home.wanadoo.nl/blackmyst/bsne...

I nabbed Castlevania Chronicles and Suikoden a while back. I always have fond memories of Suikoden... It was one of the few RPGs where earning money was a piece of cake by gambling. I used to obsessively collect all 108 characters every time I went through the game.

Ended up doing a little touchup work on the model. I reshaped the case lip around the d-button to be more accurate (my version had too large inner corner rounding). I also reshaped the buttons after having a closer look at them from Grin's photos, and I used the color schemes from his since the flas...

Yeah I can do that, and its a very good idea to add realism that way. When its all said and done for the exterior of the controller. I'll render a super-high-res version for 16:10 desktops.

I'll work on it today and then report back. Thanks!

I was able to redesign the D-button with the rounded corners I was after, and also was able to apply a better lofting modifier for the arms in the process. I've set it to just a hair of lofting for now. The new image now has my completed D-button and has maxed out my abilities. Its accurate to withi...

Just fixed a major booboo I had missed, which is I left the baseplate of the d-pad black by accident. I kept wondering why it didn't look right, but now it looks a lot better. Ok, now I can finally move on to making the last improvement to the d-pad of rounding the outer corners slightly more in lin...

byuu, its a good think the image didn't work yet. I wasn't fully happy with it just yet :P You may also prefer a different background to the wood. PM me and we'll work something out for making the image the right size and style for the emulator.

Ok I've cut the slope by 50% on the d-pad. That's all I'm doing for today because I'm pissed off now. I'll pick back up tomorrow and actually get some new work done on the d-pad model itself.

Think of 2 metal bars laid over each other to make a + sign, now bend all 4 extremities up so that none touch the ground. That is what your D-pad currently looks like FirebrandX :/ That's the way the real d-pad is, though I may have a little too much bend. As I said before, its adjustable, so I can...

I've re-uploaded the image with a slight upward angle. I need to get back to work on the model itself, and I will add in "light cards" for the buttons (the smeary light reflections you see on the buttons in photos).

Ok Fitz, I've uploaded a flat-lens version just for you. I suppose if people want to see some perspective views again, I can upload them later.

I know that's what you mean, but that's not how cameras work. What you want is a top-down view from a perfectly flat lens. I can do this, but I don't like it because you lose 3D depth to the model.

I wasn't probably looking at anything, homey. The crosspiece now has a concave slope to it, and the button heights have been adjusted to be more accurate. They are not at "completely different angles". That is just the perspective skewing, which I can control from the viewport. Edit: I upl...

Ha ha, thanks guys. I'm still a bit nitpicky on a few things though. I think maybe I used too much filleting on the middle button bevels. I will probably tighten that up just a hair tomorrow while I work on rounding the corners of the crosspiece. BTW, sorry for the long absense from work on this. I ...
