it only takes four screws. you might need a new power supply, not (just?) a new video card. Hmmm. That's weird, but eVGA tells me it only needs a 450W PSU as stated here: http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-1155-TR at the bottom of the page. If I do have to get one, how much wattage...

Sorry for not answering sooner; I looked at the PSU with a flashlight, but I can't see what brand/model it is. All I can see is the output: 500W.

Good because I got the GTS 250 1GB model and not the 512 one. It should be here tomorrow, but it will be better than what I already have (9600GT), right?

Hmmmm....the GTS 250? I mean, would it slaughter the 9600? If so, I'll get it; I don't want to fry my PSU or have crashes and the like.

Edit 10:45PM: Okay, just ordered the GTS 250; the 260 was way too expensive for me. Sure not as powerful, but sufficient. It should run
alot cooler, right?

I thought my PSU is either 450 or something, but who knows (it's somewhere in that range). And since the GTS 260 comes with this: http://www.evga.com/products/enlarge.asp?PN=896-P3-1255-AR&I=2 would that mean I won't have to worry about finding an extra two 6-pin connectors? If that's the case, ...

Okay, that is hot....so, I turned it off for 20 or so minutes, and it to an acceptable temp. I boot it up and load Oblivion only to experience a black screen/lockup yet again! Something tells me that there's something screwy going on here. I know videocards pretty well and I personally don't this be...

Well, for now, I got nTune and changed the fan speed to as high as possible; but I have my doubts on how long this solution will last; nevertheless, I'll keep looking just in case something else goes wrong. Edit 8:21PM: Okay...so I have the fan at 100% speed and I used compressed air to rid the fan(...

Crap. And I've checked the reviews on websites and some have said they've gotten black screens due to overheating; *sigh* I wish I knew about these known issues before getting one....Now I'm deciding between a GTX 250 and GTX 260 (either PNY or XFX). I don't want to go ATI due to having many bad mem...

Hmm...you mean PNY? Yeah, there should be a warranty; at least I saw one when I got it from newegg.

Edit 5:36PM: Newegg says that the warranty is 3 years limited. The problem is that the packaging it came with is long gone.

Intermittent black screen

Alright, as of now, I have had a GeForce 9600GT for a while now (maybe about a year or so) and, well, ever since I've had no problems with it ever since then up until last week. While playing games such as Splinter Cell Chaos Theory and Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (which I enjoy very much), everything...

I honestly don't know how much longer my SFC will last (it was only 1050 yen or close to 8.00USD). I think SNESes on ebay/amazon are too much money anyways. Hmmm....the thing is I still haven't decided yet, but then again it's only 40 bucks. I double checked and the only Japanese game I have that ha...

Well, as long as the sound and video are at least really close to a real SNES/SFC, then I don't care; in all honesty, I really don't know how much longer my SFC will hold out for.

I suppose Super Famiclone would be an acceptable SNES clone term.
Oh, right. I suppose I'll refer it to a Super Famiclone, but anyways, should I get one depsite the fact that all games may or may not run on it?

I don't even have an NES in the first place, so it doesn't bother me at all that I can't even use the emulated NES. But again, I do have both and SNES and Super Famicom, and for some odd reason, the Super famicom has vsync problems on both my HDTVs (Sony Wega and Sony Bravia); the screen tends to te...

Maybe that's the FC Twin you're talking about:( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Twin_Video_Game_System ) and when it comes to the Retro Duo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retro_Duo ) the compability is higher (especially SuperFX/SDD1/etc games). And besides, my SNES was damaged when the basement flo...

Thinking about getting a Retro Duo

Okay guys, I've been looking at various websites about the Retro Duo and how convinient it would be to have an SNES/SFC/NES in one machine and not have to switch back and forth between systems. As of now, I own both an SNES and Super Famicom, and while this is the case, I feel that having an all-in-...
