Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Sorry I can't help dude; wasn't trying to be a dick or anything but many of the used ones listed are only like $50(bare bones, no controllers or anything) so if I were in your position I'd go ahead and take the risk as long as the seller has a very good record/lots of positive user reviews. This guy...

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Sorry dude but I wanna keep my SNES; it's my original SNES from 1992 and I still play it fairly often. Amazon has some used ones available for fairly reasonable prices, but it's risky as you already know. That said, I've bought used games/controllers on Amazon & ebay without problems, but my rul...

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
It's not really that characters in 2d platformers are automatically trying to be mascots, but back in the early-mid 90s,(Zool was released on the Amiga in '92) pretty much every company was trying to create a mascot that would represent their image, hence why I made that comment. While I haven't pla...

Re: Need help with a SNES game...
I remember reading about this game(vaguely) in old gaming magazines(didn't know it was an Amiga game though) and it looks like a cross between a bad Megaman ripoff and a failed attempt to simulate a shroom trip. It's one of those failed mascot games but it's not as bad as, say, Bubsy. It at least lo...

Re: Best games for SNES
Mario World is ridiculously fucking fun and the fact that it's easy doesn't make it any less fun. Chrono Trigger & FF6 are both stupidly easy but they're incredibly fun, engaging games as well. I like a challenge and everything but if a game is fun I don't really care if it's too easy or hard. S...

Re: Yo duders just leaking Sonic Xtreme here...
Do you have any news on Cooljerk and if he's doing alright? Sonix Xtreme restoration aside, I just hope the dude's alright. Also this board is almost completely dead right now and it's a shame. Remaking a game from a VERY early prototype sounds ridiculously time consuming, and even if I had the know...

Re: Yo duders just leaking Sonic Xtreme here...
Bumping because DYNACUBES. Also because the board is stone dead. Also to soothe hearts after the LAST Sonic release. But mostly for my own personal amusement. That's the biggest reason. Same here. Also, I've gotta respect someone who wants to remake/finish a game that everyone was hyped as fuck abo...

Re: ZSNES for Android coming soon
Nice to hear about progress being made, and whenever it comes out I'm sure 2.0 or whatever the fuck it's gonna be called will be awesome. I'll keep using 9x for now(for PC, don't use any mobile emus) but this little update is a pleasant surprise.

That's pretty fucking impressive man. You're like the polar opposite of slore even though I felt bad for the guy. I only have one monitor too(that I use with my PC) but making your creation public like that is definitely cool.

I've heard that myth a million times as well, and while I wasn't even alive at that time, I think people continue to perpetuate that myth because ET is a symbol of the '83 crash. It's human nature to oversimplify complicated situations.

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
Personally, the only ways to play Chrono Trigger are to play the SNES version on a tube, play the DS version(emulated or legit) or my favorite, the Doctor L retranslation patch that cleans up & localizes the awkward Chrono Compendium retrans. Doctor L's overhaul of the CC hack is significantly b...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
I'm never gonna sell my copy, but my S2 box is lost somewhere in my old closet at my parents' house. I lost it years ago but it's almost definitely stashed away somewhere. At least the disc itself works really well.

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
Well, S2(at least to most Suikoden fans) is the real gem of the series and it's very unfortunate that others won't be able to play it unless they either emulate it or pay retarded amounts for used copies. I've only played 1-3 so I have no opinions of 4-5(hear 5's good), but I really dig the sprite-b...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
Well, Suikoden 2 was a perfect example of what I meant by old, rare games being expensive & unavailable new or as a download. I own Suikoden 2, but I certainly can't blame anyone for downloading it because of its rarity and high price on the used market. It's abandonware, at least in the US. I h...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
You totally misunderstood my argument, Gil, and the whole "entitled gamer" argument is old, pretentious and makes you sound like some holier-than-thou hypocrite(oh wait). By snitch I meant you're either A: trying to get me to say something you can report or B: trying to manipulate me into ...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
The fact of the matter is that you have no room to criticize others for downloading ROMs because you along with everyone else here does the same thing, and I very rarely dl ROMs now anyway. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, but many of the more obscure and/or Japan-only titles would never b...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
I own a legit copy of Suikoden 2 so I don't exactly feel bad about using an ISO of it for emulation. The whole "entitled gamer" argument is lame & played out as well, and I never said I had the "right" to just download games left and right. This isn't a political debate Gil; ...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
True, but everyone's who's ever used an emulator has downloaded ROMs, and rather than dumping your own games, you could hypothetically spend 15 minutes or so downloading the same ROMs you intend to dump with the exact same results. You're absolutely right from a legal standpoint, but both scenarios ...

Re: Windows 7, 8, 8.1, DirectDraw, ZSNES and You
hypothetically, if I were in your situation I'd just dl the rom files of said games because it'd be a lot less troublesome than dumping them yourself. Different paths, same destination and all that bullshit.

Re: The Best Controller Up to date!
Thanks for posting the review, and from the video it does look to be responsive since Contra 3 requires lots of precision. I suck ass at Contra and I've never been able to beat any game in the series.(I'd always use GG codes to fuck around and see the endings) I'm generally pretty shit at platformer...

I'm looking more for additional user reviews outside of Amazon rather than technical details that I don't know anything about. I certainly appreciate your research, and I should've been more specific when I said I needed to research it more. I'm hesitant because I don't need another controller atm, ...

True, but it's completely free & in HD. If it were a pay subscription site or some bullshit like that I'd be in complete agreement. There are only a couple episodes from each season I really like so I don't really care if I have all the episodes.(plus I've already seen every episode)

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Ninja: Are the microtransactions in Bravery Default 100% optional? So far, have you felt ANY pressure/need to buy any of that nonsense? Also, the US box art is creepy & I wish SE had just used the Japanese cover art. I've been taking a bit of a break from JRPGs & I've mostly been watching e...
