unless manpages are plain text, they are pretty useless in windows and dos because few have programs to read them with. of course, since i really know nothing about manpages (like most normal windows users), i dont know what format they use, or really anything other than how to view them in linux.

my understanding of how the graphics packs must be way off then. i thought that in order to make them, the graphics were somehow dumped from the game, uncompressed, verified, and then contained in a graphics pack which was loadable by snes9x and zsnes. special effects were still available this way, ...

if you know the brand and model of your motherboard, you should be able to go to the company's official site and get the latest drivers for your mobo, etc.

IIRC, Star Ocean had a problem, even on the real SNES, with freezing randomly in-game. My experiences lead me to believe the only way to get around this is to try doing something else. A different order of doing things will sometimes keep it from freezing. Crappy, i know. I'm sure someone else will ...

To be honest, i havn't heard of it either. I recently ran all my SNES roms through a program called RomCenter and it renamed each and every one of them as .mgd as far as i can tell. It doesn't bother me though because I have all my roms zipped up. a much better alternative is NSRT (see signature). ...

always make sure you have the latest version. The latest WIP (work in progress) build is what most should use. See my signature (below) for a link.

if his problem is with EVERY rom he has, i doubt the patches for only a few games are the thing to blame. also, this is a SERIOUS problem, and the first reported one of its kind. i would assume this is a problem with his computer, and not zsnes. maybe, however, zsnes isnt getting along with a utilit...

Or the config files could simply be called "zsnes?143.cfg" and "zguicfg?143.dat" (change the "143" to the appropriate version number, of course). We have to keep them in 8.3 format. As said in another thread the file causing trouble is zguicfg?.dat. Just put in the doc...

ZSNES version should be included within .cfg file

I've been thinking. We've been having a lot of problems recently due to people not deleting their config files after an update. If the version of ZSNES was included within the .cfg file, ZSNES could detect outdated config files, and replace them with acceptable ones. I can think of two ways to do th...

yeah, when deleting the config files, especially now with all the recent gui changes, zguicfgw.dat is probably the most important of the two to delete.

yes, there are some differences between it and the gameboy, as well as additions, but it is not part of the snes and should not be included in an snes emulator. The Multitap and SNES code is not something an SNES emulator should be doing? using that logic, the super gameboy SHOULD be emulated. even...

The last few times SGB emulation was brought up in #zsnes on freenode, pagefault said he'd leave if ZSNES got working SGB support. Really? Oh well, that sucks... i think that was more or less of an exaggeration, but i completely agree with the devs that Super GameBoy emulation should not be support...
