I'm not sure what you're aiming for.
You need to use a DS mode to stretch the screen, not DR.
Also, Keep 4:3 ratio is by default on (and it's also the the normal ratio for TVs), so if there are black bars, it's because you're trying a 16:9 or 16:10 fullscreen ratio.

Re: Yoshi's Island Missing Flower
Man, screw GameFAQs. When I was a kid, you figured this stuff out on your own. The internet was a desperation move, once it became available. There's no joy of discovery anymore. People expect someone to hand the game to them on a precharted silver platter. This, and savestates remove all the fun i...

Re: Yoshi's Island Missing Flower
You may just be doing it wrong.
Edit:
In the area where you pick up the final red coins, there is a breakable block above one of the platforms. Break it and head left in that area to a bonus area that has the missing flower.
It's not a ZSNES bug anyways.

Re: Problems running emulators
Disable all unnecessary background services and applications. Also, consider using the high priority option in the emu options... but it shouldn't come to that.
Usually the most intensive background app that consumes an inordinate amount of resources is a virus scanner.

Re: Zsnes / usb Joystick Driver for DOS
It is a simple fact that PCI based sound cards MUST use their hardware's DOS sound driver/app to operate properly in DOS. There are no exceptions to this rule AFAIK. SB compatibility relies on the fact that the IRQ must be at least 5 or 7.. all PCI sound cards have some form of IRQ routing... so it ...

Re: Multiple key press question
It is an aging limitation of non-USB keyboards.

The best workaround is to set some of the keys to Shift/Alt/Control since they are normally combinable and friendly.

Re: Can I run one filter after another?
You can't mix filters other than the automatic filtering under XP or below (via DirectDraw acceleration) or the bilinear filtering option in Linux.
It's not possible to mix two filters unless the filter itself was coded as such (which is unlikely).

I suggest you google the SNES multitap to answer the question. NBA Jam and SOM are one of the more notable games that use it.

Re: Best DVD Reading Drive Brand?
Months later, I had to RMA the drive... The drive could not recognize DVDs anymore (burned or not, yet still recognize CDs). I guess I was unlucky somehow. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the replacement.... What sucks is the cost to ship the drive back is effectively half the cost of the drive.....

Re: Input Config
Once you load the game, then you configure your controls. It should recall it once you load the game next time.
I'm not sure how you've been doing it though, so it's better you explain what you have been doing if my solution doesn't work.

Re: 16:9 Viewing Causing Image Stretching
For the sake of clarity... what game are you testing this on? If the 4:3 option is disabled, DS F should stretch regardless of the ratio. As I've said before, some games have actual black borders built into them. The HQx filters don't change this either way IIRC. My other alternative suggestion.. us...

If/when you are using a scaled non-4:3 ratio resolution, the filter tab shows another option to enable/disable the feature I spoke of earlier.

Re: 16:9 Viewing Causing Image Stretching
My suggestion is that you edit zsnesw.cfg and change Keep4_3Ratio to disabled if you want that stretch to fill the desired resolution regardless of the intended 4:3 ratio. Edit: I'm pretty sure such threads existed... possibly a board/database cleanup had occured since then.... but the point was tha...

Re: 16:9 Viewing Causing Image Stretching
This has been discussed to death (search is your friend), but here's a quick breakdown. 8:7 is the internal resolution ratio, but the outputted resolution is for a 4:3 TV (yes, ages before hi-def). R is ratio.. it is a limited stretch as intended for OLD computers where stretching causes performance...

Re: Ctrl V pasting for Folder Paths, but not Genie Codes?
The short answer is that the cheat menu IIRC unfortunately functions under older GUI code.
It's either that or it wasn't really brought up at the time. Is it really hard to remember an 8 digit code or to have a Windowed ZSNES and text laid apart? It's not like paths that could be obscenely long.

ZSNES does not come in a RAR file (meaning you're not downloading from our website), nor it does not read them either (ZIP is the most common one that will work).

Not all cheat codes are verified, despite all the precautions that have been mentioned here. Don't blame us for codes that don't work, because they wouldn't have worked on the real thing either.
