SSF 0.09 Beta R4 completely crashes during intial config

Post by neo_bahamut1985 »

Okay, just got the most recent version of SSF, which I think is an awesome emulator, and wanted to try out some games. Well, here's the weird part; I had a version from 2/2008 and never got the new version, so, I DLed it just now. When I try to configure something and then exit, the emulator locks up and gives me the famous XP crash error! Not to mention that it takes up 190MB of system resources in the Task Manager, which in itself is retarded.
Now, why would the authors of SSF post emulators that crash when the user never had them crash before? I downloaded them from the official site: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~phantasy/ss ... index.html A real mystery indeed. What's even more weird is that fact that I played a Sega Saturn game no more than 10 min ago.

Did you delete the OLD configuration files?

The obvious answer is "It doesn't crash for him."

I mean, what the crap? I've changed previous versions one from another w/out deleting the config files before...

0.10 Test is out, so you might want to give it a shot.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Well, I did what you said, deleted the config/ini file; re-extracted the new version, and opened it. The menu was jumpy, so I checked the task manager. Well, SSF.exe takes up a frikin' 78% of my CPU resources! This really, really, sucks IMHO.

SSF is a CPU intensive emulator, is it not?

It is, but the emu usually (navigating) is smooth. This time, the menu is jumpy/jittery!
