Are there any free (i.e. no money) GBA emulators that come with breakpoint debuggers or tracers?

VBA allows you to run an ARM targeted GDB against the AGB ROMs.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

When I tried it, it seemed to only work with elf targets. GDB/Insight wouldn't load the commercial ROM I wanted to debug.

But you say this is supposed to work? Maybe I will try to cross-compile my own GDB then.

I heard it works, and yes you need to cross compile it. It has to be ARM/ELF I believe.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

no$gba has the most excellent debugger. too bad I lost it in a hard drive crash :(
