creating flash games

Hi,

I recently got the idea of messing around with creating flash games.

I only have a very basic understanding of flash; I originally learn to use director and am far more comfortable using it then flash.

So I guess my question is which program is better for creating games?
Is director even capable of creating games like flash?

Basically I want to know if I should start learning to do games in Director, if it's even possible, or if I should learn flash.

Oh and if it's relevant;
I'm using Director MX 2004 and the only copy of flash I have is Flash 8.
