The Keys Change Uses

Post by dread14 »

I just got this new emulator for SNES and although it is awesome, I set the keys up and one of the keys that should be the direction down works fine at the start, but then it changes during the game and becomes the B button, making it so that I can't move down or use the down direction, because it works as the B button. How can I fix this?

Moved this thread because it is not a bug report.

The keys normally don't change within the game in most instances (very few games allow for this), so it sounds like you are configuring your inputs totally wrong.

Config->Input is where you want to be at.

Or your keyboard contacts are broken.

actually I know how to imput the keys. I put down on the directional as s and I put b as down on the arrow keys. The s key for down works at the start of the games, but it reverts to working as down and as the b button after playing. It isn't the contacts on the keys either because it works sometimes

If you expect your keyboard config to be "universal", make sure "Game Specific" is not checked.

You need to set it once though. It shouldn't happen again.

Okay I just went in and set the keys and now everything is messed up. Instead of only the s key working as the b key, now the y keys are doing the same thing. Is my rom just corrupted or something?

are you setting the keys up in the emulator or in the game?

It is suggested you start fresh and delete all the .cfg+.dat files first and start from there.

It doesn't help that you fail to mention what port and version of ZSNES you are using (Misc->About to obtain said info).
