What are good settings to get authentic SNES look?

Post by jforrest1980 »

Hello this is my first post... Hopefully in the right area. I have been messing around with the video settings, and searching the forums since last night trying to figure out what a good setting is to get a nice authentic SNES CRT AV feel. I know it will never look perfect but I want it to get as close as possible with out the weird wavy graphics I notice when I play RPG's. If someone knows what causes that I would like to know why. I have been playing full screen but keeping the square look even though i'm playing on my 34 inch 1080p Vizio television. And kind of like the NTSC filter thus far. Also played around with scanlines and all the other filters.

The only thing I would like is that the waves are gone, and that I can't see anything on my desktop while playing. All I want to see is a SNES game running, and I suppose I need to have black bars on the side since I'm on a wide screen and don't want it stretched.

I... suspect the "wavy graphics" you're talking about is the mid-frame refresh. Turning on VSync should eliminate that. Should being the key word.

DirectInput represents all bits, not just powers of 2 in an axis.
