chksum fail ?

on the emulator when i go to tales of phantasia it says chksum fail? also when i first down loaded the game, a friend clicked on the word saves,or something like it .the word was lost. it was in the rectangular box on the right of the titles hope it was not, important. please help, I'm over my head thanks, benyet

Do you have a hardpatched english rom image of the game? If so, then the message is normal. If the message shows when you load the original japanese version of the game, then the rom image is bad.

Dunno, DeJap's patch also fixes the checksum. Probably something else at work. Like wrong header status.
