It's not just nice, it's simple enough to work as an icon.

It wouldn't work as an icon, nor would we want it to. But thanks for the feedback. Font is calibri.

I thought of a kinda neat color scheme. The SNES logo is in red, so have the b start as a different color and fade to red as it approaches the letters snes. I did a quick example to show my idea. I picked blue Ignore the compression artifacts and click the image to see a better view.
HERE is both the outlined and non outline version of the font.

Totally awesome. Though there are good ones, this is the best I've seen.

I made some balance changes. This is the final or near final entry.

Nah, Fitz. Your other font entry looks much better I think.
Actually to be honest, I like byuu's current logo he has in version 040

I think a professional would disagree with you guys. The prior font was too rounded and plump for the sleek jaggedness behind it. It looks too much like a toothpaste brand. Slanting the font destroyed the circular balance of the whirl behind it. The text was spread apart too far and the outline was too thin relative to the thickness of the font. I also fixed the yellow projection, it was too nubby.

I'm not a professional. I'm a consumer. And from my consumer's point of view, original was looking nicer, I liked italic style, font itself, and how it looked overall.

Consumers are more important than the professional in this day and age.

Actually, this looks more like a font type you would find in RPG games, in the main title. I like it a lot, I wouldn't however be able to make a choice... I like both of your designs.

Another way of looking at it is that the smooth curves of the text nicely contrasted with the random splatter-shapes behind.
I'll grant that synthesized italics rarely look good; I would have been interested to see the swirl with normal Calibri Bold text (not slanted or stretched).
