Yoshi's Island Missing Flower

Post by payo »

Hello, my name is Alex and... there's a missing flower in the Bigger Boo boss castle level in Yoshi's Island. It's in that room where there's 2 boos and you have to kill them so that a flower will appear? That flower never appears.

I tried it on zsnes as well as snes9x, and I tried the US rom and the euro rom (using the US rom's save file), the flower is still missing.

Can you help?

Are you using the latest versions of ZSNES and Snes9X?

also, what is the NSRT output of your ROMs?
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
NSRT here.

You may just be doing it wrong.

Edit:

In the area where you pick up the final red coins, there is a breakable block above one of the platforms. Break it and head left in that area to a bonus area that has the missing flower.

It's not a ZSNES bug anyways.

Yes, you're right, there is a hidden block that you have to break.

So there was no missing flower. But it said on this wiki that the flower was there, even tho it wasn't.

Doesn't anyone goto Gamefaqs for this kind of info anymore?

Man, screw GameFAQs. When I was a kid, you figured this stuff out on your own.
The internet was a desperation move, once it became available.

There's no joy of discovery anymore. People expect someone to hand the game to them on a precharted silver platter.

Yeah, but save-states are flat-out cheating. May as well say "Game Genie codes."

Sidenote: I know someone who had Mario ruined forever due to abuse of Game Genie. Permanent invincibility star made their default response to enemies "ramming speed"

I never use a FAQ during my initial playthrough, for reasons stated above. I may look up certain specifics from a FAQ during the second and third runs.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Well, I needed some of that info for Yoshi's Island... subsequently I didn't need as much help finding all the stuff in Yoshi Island hacks and got 100s on my own. It took a little bit to understand the tricks of all the hidden stuff in the game.

Clearly, the response of a gaming slug.

I agree - cheating on games is just the stupidist thing ever.

However, I've spent y lifetime NOT cheating on games AT ALL (okay, couple of exceptions) and now I have litteraly THOUSANDS of games that I have never completed...and never will either probably.

Perhaps, when and if I retire and I'm sitting in an old folks home, I can go through some old games and finally complete them!
