I used to run it all the time!!! now all of a sudden every time I runs ZSNES I get the following error "DirectDraw Set Display Mode Failed" with some error number with a 7 in it!!! I don't know why all of a sudden I cannot run ZSNES!!! I have Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit!!!

something changed. different drivers, a new resident application...

you'll have to think back to what's new since the last time you ran zsnes successfully.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

You have plenty of bangs, too. Triples, at that.

Edit your config file, set the mode to something standard like 640x480 DR WIN, then relaunch.

Code: Select all

<jmr> bsnes has the most accurate wiki page but it takes forever to load (or something)

I ended up deleting the ZSNESW.cfg file and running ZSNES and it's working fine now...

The most common problem is usually causes by moving old files like zsnesw.cfg to a different computer.

Whenever you use a fullscreen DirectDraw mode, it usually expects you to support the last known resolution you ran ZSNES with. When custom resolutions are not defined, there will be issues.

It is recommended going forward to use WINDOWED modes, so that the message NEVER comes up.
