ZSNES Mac stopped writing to srm file

Post by cyy2 »

I started with ZSNES 1.43 for the mac to play Chrono Trigger. At first, the game was saving properly. I checked ~/.zsnes and the Chrono Trigger.srm file was there. When the game loads, the save file says I have saved 3 times successfully. ZSNES stopped saving the game after that though. Every save I now do in the game does not overwrite/update the srm file. I've checked the permissions on the file and the folder and things look fine.

I enabled Check + SRAM and that didn't change anything.

I tried switching to ZSNES 1.51 but the games still aren't saving properly.

Has anyone else seen this happen to their game?

----

I recently downloaded zsnes for mac (v1.43) to play Chrono Trigger on my macbook. The first three saves went through fine. My ~/.zsnes folder shows "Chrono Trigger.srm" was written successfully.

After this though, zsnes stopped writing to the srm file. It still writes cfg and zst files just fine, but not srm.

What I see now is:
1. Load Chrono Trigger
2. Load game file corresponding to my game (3 saves)
3. Save in-game (increment to 4 saves)
4. Close and quit
5. Modification time on Chrono Trigger.srm didn't change.

I've changed the permissions on the folder and file so that everyone can read and write, and that didn't fix it.

I upgraded to v1.51 and that didn't fix the problem either.

I would appreciate it if someone can provide some insight into this.
