You aren't trying to use resolutions and/or refresh rates that your monitor cannot handle, are you?

If your monitor is capable of the resolutions you are using, then you have to update your monitor and/or graphics card drivers.

it was running on 1024x768 or whatever, it was the same thing I keep my desktop on, and than I alt enter it to window mode works fine, any 1024x768 gives me the blue and black sod.. so I put it on the max res and it works perfect..

AMD Athlon XP
1.25GHz
512MB Ram
nVidia GeForce 5600
C-Media Audio device (no-name sound.)
Hitachi v700 17" monitor

I dunno what else you'd need?
Anyhow, I think its just a problem with my computer but who knows, it used to work fine..

refresh rate

comes in flavors of:
60Kz
75Hz
85Hz
etc.

you will usually get that problem if a program you use tries to use a setting combination that your monitor cant handle. i say combination since some high refresh rates doesnt work for all resolutions.

if you are overriding your refresh rates, make sure it will work for the resolution of your monitor and for your vid card (which it prolly does anyway). it is usually 60Hz.
Hey... I like stuff... got a problem with that?!
