I've been searching for a while now but haven't found any updated posts concerning this issue. If I recall I believe the only way to use a mouse for Eye of The Beholder was to use an older version of ZSNES. I would really rather not do that if I don't have to. So maybe this belongs in the feature request section?
I consider this title a classic for the platform and would really like to have mouse support for it using the latest version of zsnes. On a side note if there is another way to fix this problem I would love to read about it. I have tried using port2 or hitting the 7 key.
Also if your a developer for zsnes i'm curious if there is something in paticular about Eye of The Beholder that makes it difficult to allow use of a mouse. Or has it just become a moot point because an older version works or did work?

Have you considered playing the PC version via DOSBOX?
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/
Or is that so much different from the SNES version?

Maybe that was not elaborate enough. What I was trying to say was that I have tried going into config-> devices and using both ports 1 and 2 and not at the same time. But neither of the ports work.I have tried using port2 or hitting the 7 key.
My mouse works fine for all of the other games that are capable of using the mouse like Mario Paint.
If the mouse simply doesn't work with the game and you guys that are developing ZSNES have no intentions of adding support for it then I understand. I just wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that maybe something could be done.
If you need additional information about my rom or anything let me know.

I'm looking through the list of games that support the SNES mouse, and this is simply not one of them.
Unless we find a clever method of making it work with your mouse, it is not happening anytime soon.

goodsnes shows 2 hacked versions of the game. one of them might have added mouse support (those silly hax0rs.) I remember the old mario paint had controller input hacked in there (cause when people pirated it they obviously didn't have the snes mouse.)

I can confirm with personal experience that you can and I did indeed play Eye of the Beholder with the mouse on the SNES, and it played very naturally.Deathlike2 wrote:I'm looking through the list of games that support the SNES mouse, and this is simply not one of them.

I noticed that the game Ogre Battle and SimCity was used as a reference in your post did not have native mouse support on the SNES.
But believe me Eye of the Beholder did! =)
There is an in-game arrow which moves around very nicely when using the mouse on the SNES.
As a reference you can check Wikipedia which lists every game that supported the mouse here:
