Gamepad controller stuck moving left + up

Post by FakeAlias23 »

Hi,

I'm running ZSNES1.43 on a Mac. Have a bunch of games and they work fine, but after configuring my USB Gamepad controller, there is a constant pull on the up and left keys during gameplay, like up and left are constantly being pressed.

I've reconfigured and reconfigured to no avail. Is there anything I can do to get the controller to work properly? Any help would be appreciated.

Note - I previously used this controller on a PC and it worked fine.

There was never an official 1.43 release for the Mac.

Try using the unofficial 1.51 build from http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... &start=100

I'm having the exact same problem. The link posted leads to a blank page. The controllers work with snes9x so it must be some problem with the emulator. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have pretty much the same problem(except my controller gets jammed down and left) for visual boy advance for the mac.
All my other mac emulators run fine(I don't use zsnes on my mac). I'm using a controller with duel joysticks and a d-pad(you can see a pic of my controller in this thread: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 67&start=0).

There's a button on the controller that allows me to switch between the d-pad and the left joystick. To fix the problem I just switch over to the left joystick then rotate it 360 degrees a few times then swap back to my d-pad. The controller works fine from then on, I only need to repeat the process whenever I load the emulator. So I guess if you've got a controller like mine you could try that, or if your controller only has a d-pad you could try rotating the d-pad a few times and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work. I have a usb snes controller so it doesn't have a joystick. I tried rotating the d-pad and then restarting the game / restarting the emulator but it didn't work.

Does anyone else have any things to try out? I'd really like to use my controller!
