Keyboard input not recognized at title screen

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Keyboard input not recognized at title screen

Post by Ramulator »

Hi, I'm able to load ROMs and set keys, but nothing happens when I press "Enter" at the title screen of any ROM.

I must be doing something wrong? Thank you for the help, I appreciate it!

What button did you bind Enter to? Is that the correct button to start those games?
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

If it's FF3, you need to use A. :p

Thanks, you solved the problem.

I falsely assumed I needed to press enter. But for Final Fantasy 2 and 3 (the two games I tried), I needed to press A it seems. I feel silly, but thank you!

The SNES controller does not have a button labeled 'Enter'. :/
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Many games don't accept the start button as a valid way to start a game. Get in the habit of pressing A or B. You'll be happier.

...

But hey, at least you figured out the intro sequence on FF3US isn't a glitch. You're ahead of the curve there.

DirectInput represents all bits, not just powers of 2 in an axis.
