PS3 controller (sixaxis) on xubuntu 16.04

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

PS3 controller (sixaxis) on xubuntu 16.04

Post by Cammygirl192 »

Xubuntu 16.04 is one shitty update.

I tried using the Sixaxis thing (forgotten its name, I won't grace it with it either) and I find it doesn't actually wish to work for anything, I have tried higan (nothing). Couldn't install ZSNES because of some shitty issue with the packages on 16.04, so run Wine with it, and again, fuck all happens.

64-bit Xubuntu 16.04, I might mention.
I haven't played anything since my last controller's R1 button decided it would stop working completely. I only installed Xubuntu because PS3 controller doesn't work with a Mac.

But it seems it's the same for Xubuntu so I have three choice:

1. Move to Windows 7 64-bit with a cracked copy (I hate Windows)
2. Give up and use a keyboard to play SSF2 (fuck no)
3. Get help

Natural, chose the third option.

RIGHT, NEW INFO ABOUT:

xboxdrv and xpad installed, found this error that it was BUSY

hid_apple makes me think this will never be fixable

Thanks.

But DS3 and I think also DS4 pads work natively with Mac OS X? You may need to press the reset button and pair them again, which is performed by plugging them in with a USB cable first, again, I think.

Been ages since I needed to pair a DS3 controller.
