X-arcade right movement is no.6 which opens switches option

How do I change the configuration so that when I hit right on my controller (6) it doesn't activate the no.6 switches and gfx option? I have an x-arcade ipac and 6 is standard right movement. A real pain. But I can't change without major grief to all my other emulators which work fine. Please help

go to misc -> misc keys and rebind "panic key" to something else.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.
