Lag of some sort?

Gamepad acting up? Keyboard not responding properly? Can't get that other user to work? Read and post about it here.

Lag of some sort?

Post by mridlen »

I'm experiencing lag of some sort. I can't tell what my lag is coming from, but it works out like this, I press a button, and a split second later Mario jumps. What can I do to correct this? Is it a problem in my controller or what?

I use a Belkin Nostromo n45, and I'm using the latest ZSnes (1.42)

Try disabling triple buffering and vsync and see if this corrects the problem.

Yep, that sure helps. I also turned down the resolution, and that seems to help as well. There is some memory leak with this version (It uses like 90% CPU on my comp), so I'm betting it will help getting that fixed too.

IIRC, the latest WIP version doesn't have the memory leak problem.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

Memory leaks don't necessarily have to mean high CPU usage, and vice-versa.

Well... all I know is that it uses 90% CPU when there is no game loaded, and my computer *should* be able to handle it (it's like a 2.4Ghz).
