Controller Help PLEASE!!!

I recently bought a SNES controller and a Super Smart Joy USB adapter. When I run ZSNES I choose input and I dont see my controller. Is there anyone who can tell me what I should do? All I did was plug in my controller and adapter and it doesnt work and when the rom starts running the controller doesnt work at all, what do i do?

Choose Keyb/Joystick. Click Set. Click Set Keys.

Read the documentation.

FYI, ZSNES does not show specific input device [brand] names in its input device list.

Your controller is not supposed to "show up" in ZSNES. You have to make sure Input #1 is using the device Keyboard/Gamepad and you need to click on the Set Keys button to map your controller buttons.

what should the other ports be set to? how do i map my controller? sorry i really dont know what im doing i just wanna play SNES

None, because you are using one controller for one player.

Well, then you shouldn't expect anything to work right off the bat then if you don't do what was asked.
