xbox 360 controller on macbook air

Hello
I installed the tattiebogle driver and it reads my wired xbox 360 controller just fine.
The problem is is that when I try to input the buttons on zsnes it just keeps changing and I can't get it to map to the right button.
If I try to map the A button and I press A and repeat it it switches between J01, J05, J14 and such.
I'm not sure why it won't read my inputs correctly or why it keeps jumping to different buttons.

This is due to the analog triggers. Try holding them both exactly half pressed.

Or you could try binding the buttons by manually editing the configuration file.
