Two players controlling player 1

I was wondering if there was a way, either through zsnes or a third-party program, that would allow my friend and I to both control player 1. We enjoy playing RPGs coop, and found that Earthbound's system(any controller can be used to play) worked quite well.

Is there a way we can both use player 1? If not, is there some program that would allow him to make inputs to zsnes through my pc over the internet? Thanks.

You could use joy2key, and have one person take the keyboard and another take the controller. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

EDOT: whoops, forgot this was the netplay forum. Yeah I pretty much doubt that you can do such a thing.
