UDP help please

Post by skunkchop »

Hello, I'm new to these forums.
I tried to Netplay with someone using UDP. I was the server. For me, it said, "Client Found", but it was still connecting for him.
Does that mean that the problem is on his end?
The Netplay works if we both uncheck our UDP boxes, but it's insanely laggy that way (and he lives only a kilometer away). I know that my port is already forwarded, but I don't think his is. Would port forwarding for him make the UDP work?
If not, what do we need to do to play using UDP, or without lag?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both connections have to use port forwarding. It can't be just one side that has it set correctly.

Sure, but it's not a sure bet that you will have a better experience.

Alright, I tried having him port forward too.
It still says "Client Found" with nothing else happening. What's the problem?

EDIT: Interestingly, I just tried it with someone else and it worked perfectly and without lag. I think my other friend port-forwarded incorrectly.
