network prob - nothing appears

Hiya. Having a network problem. Me & my friend have same version of zsnes, but everytime we connect (either one of us starts up and the other joins, or we both connect to each others ip's), it says connected but nothing happens on my screen. My friend is connected and a chat screen appears for him - but on my end its just a blank screen with the connection window.

Any ideas how we can sort this? I am using a router but I've forwarded the UDP and I've given my friend my REAL ip (the 82...) and not the router one (even tho it says 'your ip is 192..' and says the router one on the network window).

If you're using UDP, both sides have to have their ports fowarded.
