netplay rom problem

ok, me and my friend setup for netplay, each of us have the rom but when we load the rom his zsnes closes while mine continues playing the rom offline...he has the newest version of directx and the rom works fine when he plays offline..any ideas?

What zsnes version are you using? What connection are you using? Are you in a lan? Are you behind a router? Have you port forward said router?

version 1.42 (same with my friend) and its standard internet connection.

i think hes behind a router..how do you port forward the router?

Edit: i port forwarded it but the same still happens

Judging by your spelling, I'm quite sure you did something wrong.

What do you mean by "standard" connection? Wireless? DSL? Cable? 56k?

It depends. You aren't necessarily behind a router, but most people with cable have more than one PC, and do use a router.
