You mean IPS patchers? Check here: http://www.zophar.net/utilities/patchutil.html

I recommend IPSWin or Sam IPS 2. Lunar IPS is probably good as well.

Scratch IPSwin. It's been known to royally fuck up roms.

LunarIPS is probably the best to go.

Thumbs up for LunarIPS!

The whole reason that program was written is because the other patchers sucked and had bugs.

LunarIPS may be good, but I don't like the fact that it associates .ips files to the program. It also uses the Windows registry. :x

Leave IPSWIN alone. Everytime that I or someone else brings it up, someone, (usually Grinvader) always says that it fucks up images, supplying no evidence for this opinion.
I have patched many, many roms and the only times that it produced bad roms were when I had to apply a header to a rom (and everytime that happened I was told to do it in the readme of the patch anyway.

Zophar's Domain has just suddenly announced a new IPS patcher. I haven't tried it, but it may be good. It can apply and create both IPS and NINJA files.

What are NINJA patches exactly?
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I don't know, but they sound bad-ass.

Probably a new format designed to address the limitations of IPS. There was already APS, but I don't know much about it.

And that was supposed to mean something?

EDIT: OK, it was supposed to mean something. But middle-clicking on it in Firefox does weird things.

IPS - 24 bits.
PPF - 32 bits.
NINJA - 2040 bits (still, php bumps it back to 32 bits, and even asm can't bring it above 80).

Plain wow.

NPS - Variable Bit Length.

NPS is also two way.

Which means the patch can turn A to B or B to A. And the size is always smaller than a single IPS patch that only can convert A to B.

I must concur.

Just FYI, NINJA is variable bit length with max bit length of 2048. It doesn't waste 256 bytes for every single patch, only as many as it needs to.

Some advice D....
1. We know what your board handle is, we don't need it again in your avatar.
And 2. Sigpics suck, (even though it's ~2KB) you'll most likely get flamed for it, and get it removed by an admin.
Just some friendly advice..
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
NSRT here.

1. I have been using this avatar for 2 years at every single other board I use. I really don't care.
2. I have been using this sig for 2 years at every single other board I use. I really don't care.

Thanks for the advice.

I was only posting because I ran across the post in my referral logs and remembered I made an account here (byuu had asked me to post something about some documentation thing of his one day but I forgot. oops)

No need to be rude.

But as a general rule, sig pics are not allowed.
