Do we use the 1.0 or 1.1 version with the patch? This game looks awesome.

Oh wow, the amount of work you put in that one looks astounding.
First time I see a VW&HF routine...

Hail to the machine ! m(_v_)m

P.S.: I spotted the 'purify' old dude text bug and the '"steal arrow" whatever is actually stolen' bug.
But I didn't get any 'reset to 1st village and empty saves' in 3.5 fullgame runs, so please mention to those posters on your forum who're so quick to blame zsnes that it is likely a user issue.

Dammit, figures that my usual ROM site took down the Nintendo section.

now I know I may be reprimanded for this post, but I'd like to ask how you'd go about patching this rom? I tried soft-patching and using IPS Win 2.0, but either way all that happens is the Japanese words are blurred.

Try removing/adding a headet to the ROM.

Naaah, you just have to know the drill, and be kinda lucky.

I actually cleared it in my first go. Got a freaking flood of blank scrolls (around 20), so I made the basic crappy eq awesome++ and unrustable, and left some in case of curses.
Used a Death meat to deal with the final boss without breaking a sweat.

Another fun way to ice the Mashoku Bug is to enscribe a blank scroll with Genocide and toss the scroll at it. Instant kill.

Unfortunately no, as you don't really "kill" it so much as "erase it from existence."
