Best DS RPGs

Post by casualsax3 »

With the exception of the Chrono Trigger rerelease, my DS has gone unused for the better part of four years. I've got a long flight coming up - what RPGs (J, strategy, action) are worth my time? Was considering the new Golden Sun, but I only played about 10 hours of the first one.

I've heard Dragon Quest IX is pretty good; same with DQIV.

FF4 DS, don't waste your time, it's harder than the SNES one.

I've heard the dragonball RPGs are pretty good actually (Origins, I think is what it is)

Of course, can't go wrong with Pokemon (fourth and fifth generations)
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

...which is a perfect reason to check it out. FF4 (original) isn't very hard if you grind for a half-hour and remember to use Slow on bosses.

I greatly enjoyed DQIV, though I never played it back in the NES days.

I did rather enjoy the FF3 remake. I haven't played the original though so I don't know how it compares.

Not pure rpgs, but grab yourself the DS castleroids for a good chunk of fun time.

Speaking of Rogue-isheses... I enjoyed the Izuna games.

The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series on the DS really is babby's first Rogue-like.
